Think the Brits are going to Bodega bar now - it's cheaper than JW apparently?

Jonnys full of English speakers last two nights. Lots of familiar faces in there.

Bodega has become popular with Brits and if you're a smoker probably better choice as they seem to ignore the no smoking ban.

Have fun.

. Apart from drinks being cheaper it is also a good spot for people watching . Good music and friendly staff as well. You do not even need to ask for your drink. The staff have a good memory and simply either pour it for you or ask you to confirm. They also acknowledge you outside the premises . The same applies to Maxines.

They don't actually "ignore" it because, being no more than an outside terrace with an opening roof, it doesn't strictly apply to them. Probably in some kind of grey area.

In previous years we have always headed straight for Wokkers in the evenings and not really bothered with many of the others.

This year however we spent quite a lot of time in the Bodega Bar and thoroughly enjoyed it. Especially the night with the live rock band who were excellent. We will still continue to use Wokkers but not just as often.

BTW. We are sneaking an extra couple of nights there this week. Staying just outside the village but will be around our usual haunts Wed/Thurs.

Looking forward to trying them both when I arrive Thursday. Packed shirt, long trousers and shoes to make sure that I actually get in!

What is the dress code through the day?

In the daytime the dress code is supposed to be naked. However in recent years we see more and more people who ignore it.

Le Pilouterie and its sister bar Le Palme Re are great for people watching but they will try and rip you off especially if you're not French plus Le Palme Re charges an extra euro per drink (above the published price) after a certain time in the evening.

On the other hand Pascal and Cora in Johnnies are dead straight and they do occasionally give out free drinks to regular customers.

We were ripped off there on our first visit. Malibu and lemonade 18 euros! And not even a British single measure.

The waiters were just chancers .

We will Never go there again.

Palm Re Thursday we waited at least 15 mins and no service so we popped into Bodega which we had avoided in the past.

Had a great time 5 Euro a large beer.

Pilou last night 5.4 a large beer and 5.5 Aperol Spritz.

Weve never been ripped off in any of the bars as far as we know!!!

Cap d’Agde, France

Was in Johnnies tonight at 11 pm and also last Thursday at 1am.

Both nights were packed out, lots of Dutch, Germans and a few French.

Owners said that their sales on Beer have gone up 60 % on previous year so they are clearly making a success but both are worn out.

Would not be surprised if there are new owners next year !

On the basis Century 21 have a bar on offer that from its description seems pretty similar you are probably spot on.

Quite a few places are preparing to close down now . The supermarket in Port Ambonne is de-stocking the shelves .

The last week in September is one of my favourites . Better service when things are quiet and still great fun in the Sauna as another couple on here have stated .

West Bromwich

Sitting on the balcony at the moment at O2. Food has obviously taken off with platter after platter coming out mid to early afternoon evening. Clientele a good mix of European and many familiar faces from the uk. Guys certainly trying, but will try to do a beer price comparison with elsewhere over next few days.
