Arriving at Cap campsite in our MH on Wednesday 21/6. Think we've read everything we can about the campsite etc, and still confused! If any of you lovely guys are staying on the site and would be kind enough to share a beer and your help, we'd really appreciate it! Thanks xxx |

I get bitten badly but hardly at all if you follow some simple rules.
Use mozzie repellent the majority contain DEET but go for 50%.
There are other types e.g Odamos It seems to be popular its from india and it has the added bonus of smelling nice .deet pongs a bit
If there is a wind they cannot fly that well so they hide in sheltered places so don't sit near hedges .
shower regulary and apply insect repellent every 5or 6 hours.
at night keep the doors closed if you havn't got flyscreens on them .
The worst time is when the air is still
They seem to get attracted to black clothes at night i was wearing a white top and none around me my friend was covered with mozzies .so light clothes best.
I hardly get a bit now .
If you do get one Resist scratching!
And take an anti histamine (hay fever tablet)they relive the itch and helps stop the itch scratch itch cycle.
Last year in june it was windy but very warm i was there 25 days and not one bite. pray for a nice breeze |

Does anyone know if you can always get into the campsite without booking? We we there last August and didn't have a problem. We are planning to be in the area in the next few weeks but can't set a definite time. |
