We were all 'newbies' once.. remember it well.. we stayed outside the village and cycled in on a dull morning.. my goodness you really don't want to see the village on an overcast day! Our first sight was a naked man, evidently still suffering from a good night, out walking through the village to collect his baguette..
We sat at the bar wondering what we had done.. then the sun came out.. and we have been going back two or three times a year..
You could not easily explain why you would holiday here but Cap is unique, a melting pot of simple naturist pleasure to extreme sex and hedonism.. nowhere else compares..
See you at Paralia |

Think it's a nailed on certainty to be honest - shopping has started for evening wear and less is definitely more |

You'd be better going to Gran Canaria Xmas time. Playa del ingles, lots of swingers clubs, got the naked beaches plus hot weather and gets quite busy.. |

There will be a little going on in the clubs but only at weekends and a new year party or two but most (nearly all) of the village will be closed.
As said above Gran Canaria would be a much better bet at that time of year. |

Cap d’Agde, France |
We are here all year but it's a different beast from mid September to beginning of May.
Love walking along beach in the winter from Marseillan page, stopping for a coffee in the village, only 3 bars open and other than a sunny sunday they'll only be about 20 people about.
Usually one restaurant open at the weekend, Joys, where the local libertines go, very friendly but very French.
Clubs like le Juls and 2x2 are open at the weekend and some of the others for special occasions, Valentines etc
Come the summer though and wow!
For our winter holiday we go to Gran Canaria, very different but a lot more intimate than the cap and we always have a great time there and meet fantastic people.
As they say:
Cap for the summer
Gran Canaria for the winter. |

don't worry- Glamour is best club inside village much better than others in our opinion...single guys can't go certain places...but also think about 2+2...lots of fun to be had there.
Or ( curveball) L'Xtasia outside of the village 15 minutes away...always a great time there. |

"any advice for a single male thinking about going to cap in august? will i be a social leper? lol" Hi. You will do well as long as you make the effort and are happy to pay the 50 Euro entry fee for clubs and saunas . All the fun comes at a cost. You have no need to worry about being a social leper . There are plenty of couples seeking single men and gang bangs .
Your problem is that you are going during the busiest month and will be lucky to find reasonable priced accommodation.
If you work on the assumption that you can only be intimate with a limited number of women per day , why not go in September when prices are a lot less . You will still get plenty of opportunities to use your condoms. |

Newbie question. Are there a lot of people taking pictures on the beach and in the village ? There are obviously a lot of pics online , so just wondering if it's a problem or if it's easy to be discreet ?
Thanks |

"Newbie question. Are there a lot of people taking pictures on the beach and in the village ? There are obviously a lot of pics online , so just wondering if it's a problem or if it's easy to be discreet ?

Considering the size of the place, the number of people that go there, and the number of years it's been going, I think there are very few pics and vids online.
We like to take a few of ourselves around the village but are always mindful about not getting other people in the background and most others think and do the same.
However we would never take a camera to the swinger section of the beach. Any kind of photography there is SERIOUSLY frowned upon.
There is always the danger of hidden camera's and there are a few voyeur video's on Hamster and the like, but again very few. If you look at them you will find that the majority are re-edits from a handful of originals that have been doing the rounds for many years. |

We have only ever seen that happen once.
It must have been 3 or 4 years ago and a young guy was caught filming on his phone. When the "players" noticed him they immediately stopped playing resulting in a group of very angry French guys snatching his phone and chucking it into the sea.
Maybe things are a bit more relaxed now so we will certainly keep an eye open.
Methinks it's big sunglasses and floppy hats all round.

Yes I was looking at xhamster and saw myself there ! It's the one with my gf playing with a group of guys in a small circle whilst we sang "God save the queen" which was completely immature of us , but we were on holiday
Never thought I would be a porn star !
Fortunately no one is likely to be recognised without our clothes on - somehow they define us, and given the amount of play on beach, surprisingly v little ever gets filmed.
However I wouldn't take vids or pix on the beach.
I too have seen a voyeurs phone thrown into sea |

"Staying in Sete July/Aug, hoping to get my wife to visit Cape D'Agade with me. Any couples around Sete same time? Also any recommendations re Sete?"
Recommend that you go with your wife one evening, have a wander around the village to find your bearing, most people are clothed after 5pm, a drink in the numerous cafe/bars, perhaps a meal, soak up the atmosphere as the evening wears on and then head to a dance bar to finish off your evening. La Bodega is popular with Brits for dancing although we prefer the music in La Casa or the Arc, you could also have a look in the Melrose Bar (but would avoid staying there), just to get the full on Cap buzz.
Theres no need to visit a swing club , your wife would just love the energy and sexiness that pumps out of the place especially in July/August.
We do love going to Sete during the year, got some of the best fish restaurants in the south of France, a lively town with lots of traditional games (water jousting) and there will be lots of activities most nights during July August which you can find out about via the Office de Tourisme. |

We're counting the days until we arrive on 20th June!
For those of you who have been before, what do women normally wear in the evenings when going for dinner etc? It sounds like evenings are mainly dressed...?

Evenings are mostly dressed, even if the dresses are quite skimpy and revealing
Anything goes at Cap, so dress in any way that makes you feel good and sexy - you will see everything from sexy underwear to fetish wear, some with lots of flesh exposed, others less so, but they all look sexy !

It’ll be our first visit and we’re staying in port nature between 15th August -19th August (we would have loved to have stayed longer but the childcare and excuses to Nana would have been extensive...)
Any information, tips, party invites would be welcome

Hi All,
We will be in Cap for our first visit from 28th June to 1st July. Only a short visit, but thought we’d stop by whilst touring France and ‘dip our toe in the water’!
Nervous, excited, and all manner of other feelings!
Not sure what to expect, so any tips or advice appreciated
Anyone else going to be there at the same time?? |

"We are going to cap dagd next week for the first time in the motorhome. Any suggestions or recommendations would be great!?
Xxxx"
I think you will be extremely disappointed.
Cap D'Agde is the most amazing place on Swinger Earth from June to early September but now it's as dead as a Dodo.
We were there on Sunday for lunch, one other restaurant and two cafés open and perhaps 30 people about.
Our advice would be to keeping heading south, perhaps Vera Playa ! ...? |

Do you think the sauna will also be empty on the last weekend of November especially it being a weekend?
Also, where is Vera Playa? Is that a swinger Hotspot? |

Vera Playa is in Almeria province in Spain, around 10/11 hours drive from Cap.
It is a large nudist beach with one or two swinger friendly bars and one swinger club.
In the winter months it's pretty much dead. |

Swinger action on the beach is reserved only for people who like to spend their evenings in a prison cell.
No it won't be as dead as Cap. It will be even worse. Last time we drove down in the winter there were more cats than people. |

Vera is nice, but not limited swinging opportunities.
Best places are Cap D'Agde in summer and PDI/Maspalomas in winter.

Late June/early July is our favourite time so we would say you've got that bit spot on.
You don't need to stay in the village but if you want to get the best of the atmosphere and nightlife it's much better to do so. Yes it is more expensive but the price difference on the gate pass between village residents and outsiders narrows the gap a little.
Other than the single day pass which has restrictions all the others allow you to come and go as you please. However if you are staying any distance away late night transport can be difficult.
The foam and pool parties are inside the village as is pretty much all the swinger atmosphere in the bars, sauna's and clubs.
There is Extasia which is a short drive away and a swinger (more like gang bang really) club in Agde town, but that's about it on the outside. There is/was (not sure if is still open) a small club next to the village entrance but if you've made your way that far you may as well just go inside.
It should be remembered that Cap d'Agde is a large very French family resort. The naturist village, which attracts most of the international visitors and nearly all the swingers is just one quarter of it. |

"Any advice for places to stay where you can play in public by the pool?"
Other than the specific pool and foam parties (which are well screened off) there are no pools where you can play in public.
In fact other than on the (unofficial) swinger section of the beach there is nowhere at all.
It has to be remembered that Cap d'Agde naturist village is just that, a naturist village. Officially it is nothing more.
The swinger side has grown over the years and a blind eye is turned to what happens on one section of the beach (but only on that section)
All other sexual adventures are (in one way or another) behind closed doors.

"Well you can certainly play around the pool in Jardin D'Eden xxx"
Of course but that is a separate and well screened off swinger complex, the pool is for residents only, and it's behind a bloody great gate. Babylon is pretty much the same other than non residents can go in for the organised pool parties one or two times a week.
Like I said, "behind closed doors" (one way or another)
All the pools that are visible from outside (which is all of the rest) are strictly no sex.
Even in Kamasutra, which is a sex club, playing is only allowed downstairs in the club itself, around the pool it is prohibited.
The same applies to Waiki Beach, the pool in Port Ambonne, and the pool at hotel Eve. I don't think there are any others.

"The possibility of a 15000 Euro fine if caught shagging in a public place too.
As clearly indicated at various points around Le Cap.
Does that include the infamous bay of pigs? "
That is very much in a grey area.
To the letter of the law then yes it is illegal. However a blind eye has been turned for years.
Also it would be very interesting to see the police try to arrest someone.
We've seen the mounted police come to the back of the beach a couple of times and the boo's and whistles they got from the French guys was loud and quite intimidating. It would take a very brave cop to try and drag someone away. Yellow vest moment methinks. |

It makes sense: There are family with kids in those areas; kids shouldn't be exposed to that. |

I quite agree, I have been going to the cap for more than 25 years and it has always been sexy now it is a bit more sordid but if it is restricted to the adult beach then I think it will go on. It is just that all this very blatant sexual action is driving away the families which are the future of the place |

A lot of truth in that.
As on this thread we read a lot of posts on the Spain threads from people that think the world is full of hard core swinger resorts. It isn't.
Cap is unique for the way that swinging is tolerated, but if you overstep the line then the law will (rightly) come down on you like a ton of bricks.
Let's just get this straight folks. Cap is a NATURIST resort that tolerates swingers as long as they behave with a little decorum.
In the right places you can pretty much do what you want.
However you cannot just have sex anywhere you want, and if you do then expect to get your (virtual) collar felt.
Newbies really do have a lot of misconceptions about life in le Cap. |

"Countdown to our first trip to cap 8th-15th July. Who else is going and take us under their wing..or anywhere else! "
A French lady that I know decided to give someone a blow job in the Bodega Bar. Security at the bar were over in an instant . They then left in such a hurry that they forgot to pay for their drinks.
Normal standards of behaviour apply in Cap. If you wish to put on a show it has to be either at one of the swingers clubs or in the appropriate area in the Sauna. |

If you can find somewhere that is "right outside" then it wouldn't be too bad. The reality however is that most outside accommodation is a good way outside and although the daytime bus service is good, late night transport (Taxi's) is difficult and/or expensive.
Also the cost of the village pass is quite a bit more expensive for "outsiders" than for people who have accommodation inside the village.
Add it all up (a few taxi fares and the pass) and the price difference isn't as wide as you might think, and it is so much better to be in the middle of it all. |

"We're looking at going the end of June, what's the difference between staying in the village or staying right outside and walking in? Can't find any info online regarding this "
Depends where you stay it can be quite a walk from the centre of town & taxis are very limited later on. You will still have to buy a day pass to enter but if you stay close then it’s not a bad option to dip your toes and see what you think, our advice however would be to stay in, that way you are not restricted to what you can carry and are able to fully enjoy the days & the nights, happy to help with any specific questions if you pm us xx |

Depends... we have a place in Cap for the last 10 years which is the other side of the marina and is a 40 min walk or 10 min cycle. Whilst we also stay in the village for the full experience, equally you can drive, cycle in and out as you please. We have cycled back at 3 am and the roads are clear as a bell. And don't feel we missed out. It depends on your budget, your iteniary ( there is loads to do in the area- not just the village) and the experience you are after. Do note that things are a lot cheaper outside the village than inside the village. |

"First time Cap from 2 June for week"
There is something very special about a first visit to Cap. It's something you'll never forget or somehow repeat. No amount of words on this forum would describe the experience you about have in June. Enjoy yourselves. Xx |
