Is there a fairly cheap way of getting some english channel tv in cap d'agde.

There are lots of sites that say many things including taking a freesat box and getting a dish to astra 2 satellite. has anyone done this OR done it another way?

Only so we can keep up with the news etc and maybe give our livers a rest a few nights

hi,I use freesat in Nth France, works well. This link might give you a bit of guidance and perhaps someone to chat with for technicals

http://robssatellitetv.com/eurotvreception.htm

Also try the likes of Anglo Info for more local knowledge, perhaps even an installer who can advise further.

Hope this helps

Portsmouth, North Brittany, France

we've got free sat here, works fine n dandy! Put it up ourselves with herindoors yelling about the picture from inside the house to me atop the ladder!!

The job was made simpler by a widget that connects between the dish and the sat receiver - the dail shows the signal strength as you move the dish. You can get a general position of the sat. online. You punch in where you are and tell it what sat your looking for - jobs a good 'un and have a cold one!

Mondeo on an android tablet or phone works for us when we are there.

app can only be downloaded from Mondeo.com it free.

Can get thousands of channels BBC, sky, all film channels.

There is some buffering on some channels just change to another of the same channel from the list

Well we have both. Being on the campsite it will be poor reception & lots of buffering. Sat dish is good and there is a BRIT on the campsite who installs at a reasonable price. Go to reception and ask.
