Carlisle Dumfries France

Bordeaux - leaving sex aside there is plenty to do.

Maybe one of the more quirky places to visit is the former U Boat pens from WW2.

It's been turned into an arts/exhibition centre : think son et lumiere.

The exhibition which has just started is Le Petit Prince, that famous French story.

Just google bassins-lumieres.

If you are flying in you will see the posters at Merignac.

Greater Manchester

Le dune du Pilat- very close to Bordeaux, the largest sand dune in western europe

Plenty of amazing wineries for an afternoon/evening of wine tasting, eating cheese!

If you have more time over there where you can check out more of the surrounding area, I'd definitely recommend checking out Toulouse, Albi, Carcassonne
