We are trying to book some accommodation for our first visit in mid June, but are so confused about what 'the village' is! We hear that you need to pay to get into it, you need a wrist band, it's the bit we want...but also that it's noisy and expensive and it's totally fine to be based outside of it.
Is there a map with a line that actually shows the village area, and is anyone able to explain what 'it' actually is...and the pros and cons of staying in it!

A good rule of thumb is that if you can book it at this late stage, then it's either a complete rip-off that no-one else will touch, or it's not in the village.
Try googling "cap d'agde village naturiste map".
Most people would say always book inside for your first visit, but it's a pretty full on experience. If you just want to dip in, and do other things as well, then you can just visit for the day. But you won't get the full experience. |

We aren't going to go until mid-June - if there's decent accommodation left. Maybe we've left it too late now...I'll give it a go though. We are only going to go for a few days, so not really much time to do anything else - very happy to mooch around and take it all in! Thanks for the advice  |

For various reasons we couldn't start looking until a couple of weeks ago, and when we looked there was almost nothing.
If you have a choice between booking outside, and not going at all, I'd say book outside. We've gone to the other extreme and booked a caravan at Terre de Soleil, the swingers' campsite about 5 miles away, and will drop in for some day visits to the village. |

The campsite in the village may have something. It's very quiet with everything only a couple of minutes away. We stay in the "Pearl" chalets and love it. You even get a golf buggy with your chalet to go around the village. |

The early advice about best accommodation already booked is 100% correct. But as a first timer mid to late June is perfect. We’ve been going for years and have been in May, June, July, August and even Sept. Mid late June is a great first time to go. Take the plunge, don’t be put off by accommodation not being perfect, so long as it’s in the village and a fair price to suit your pocket. Go with low expectations about the accommodation, fact is most of the apartments are AWFUL and poorly maintained and sparsely equipped. However, unless you have an adverse reaction to the nudity, sexual tension and liberal shenanigans you’ll only be sleeping in the accommodation anyway - we shower and sleep and that’s it. Jump in with both feet and book into the village you won’t regret it. Good luck. |

Actually I just checked and if you look on that website I mentioned in my message there is quite a lot of accommodation available in the village for mid June including a nice apartment in Port Venus which is where we always stay in the village. Hope that helps

For anyone wanting to go, there were loads of apartments to look at on the booking dot com site. We managed to get a nice enough room, with a parking space and a pool! Really excited now - going to be there 12-16 June

Looking for a bit of advice. We have a taxi transfer booked to take us from the airport to our apartment in the village and was wondering if the taxi would be allowed straight in or will we have to register at the entrance first? First timers very excited! |

I’m pretty sure the taxi had to drop you off at the reception so you can register to go in. They’ll probably bring you inside if you have a pass already though (been picked up from inside a few times) |
