We are off to Euronat in Aug in our motorhome
Anyone suggest the best route and any recommendations where to stop off
Nudist etc site would be perfect but if not a nice site half way would be good

It depends if getting there quickly is important to you and whether or not you're happy to negotiate Paris.
In a car at 130kmph, I'd take the A1 to Paris then the A10 to Royan and ferry across the Gironde.
In a slower vehicle, you might want to take the A16 to Abbeville then the A28 to Tours and A10 to Royan/Blaye/Bordeaux.
At the other end you've 3 choices, cross the Gironde at Royan (follow signs for the Bac), cross the Gironde at Blaye or if you don't fancy the ferry, then drive down to Bordeaux and up the other side of the river in the Médoc. Be aware that driving in the Médoc is tedious in summer and that the ring road around Bordeaux is a traffic jam no matter when you get there.
If you don't get held up at Paris (unlikely) then Royan is an eight hour drive (slog). Stopping half way would be around Orléans on the A10 or Le Mans on the A28 but I can't recomend a campsite. Well actally I can, at Arnage near Le Mans but only if you're there in mid June for the race. |
