I am thinking of chartering a boat either at Port Ambonne or nearby and visiting Port Ambonne. Has anyone here done it before? What are the things I ought to be aware of? The Almanach I bought is very prudish and has very little detail, not helpful much. |

We've never done this but a friend has and we spent some time with him in the port a couple of year's ago.
To visit Port Ambonne during the summer you first need to get in touch with the Capitainerie, do a search for 'Capitainerie Annexe port Ambonne'. You'll find boat hire at the main Cap d'Agde port, do a search for 'Location Bateaux Cap d'Agde. The maximum boat length is 10m and a draught of less than 1m.
You'll need a 'Permis Bateau côtier' or equivalent which allows you to navigate up to 6 nautical miles from the coast. Be aware though that spaces in the port are rarely available in summer (but the current situation may have changed things this year). |
