In Bodega Bar last night, superb rock band belting out the classics, place packed and everybody dancing 'in their seats'.
Every time someone felt the urge to stand up and move the waiter came over "DON'T DANCE", a lady moved herself behind the lead guitarist and again the owner told her not to dance, the staff terrified of losing their license.
The Cap bars and restaurants are packed to the seams inside and out, the clubs are open and you can freely fuck who you want but try and get up and move in a dance bar and you are immediately shot down.
It's an absurd and frustrating Cap this year. |

We are still trying to figure out whether to come across or not.
Any idea of what the cost of the tests are to get back to the UK please?
We are both fully jabbed. |

If Macron’s plans to enforce production of COVID vaccinations prior to entry to bars and restaurants come in to operation, we can see Cap going into meltdown.
It’s a stance we see so often here. Politicians dreaming up these fantastic ideas but having absolutely no idea how they will work in the real world.
Think Breathalyser laws a few years ago…. |

We have just got back. Had a great time and plan to be back at the end of Aug. Cap is not quite normal but still v busy, PCR tests and flights etc are a pain but overall it is so worth it!!"
Was that 45 euros each coming back?
How about going out please? |

Is that because in 'proper' clubs you have to be double pricked etc. to gain access whereas in pubs with music you dont?
Looking at the pictures in Cap News of the sardine packed Amnesia just down the road I guess that is he case.
Crazy situation. |

"We didn’t go to any clubs but bars are indeed packed absolutely no social distancing and made us feel a bit odd tbh.
In your opinion, is it worth going this year?"
Other than the dancing ban and having to show a vaccine certification/negative covid test for club entry (and possible restaurant entry later this month) it's worth a visit.
The place is rocking, the beaches lively and people are determined to have a good time.
I would say that more than half the apartments in Port Nature are empty so perhaps there are deals to be done.
Like everywhere there are restrictions to travel and to stay but I don't think you will regret a holiday in the Cap this year |
