Wouldn't surprise us.. Lots of people here still carrying on same as before Covid arrived! Luckily seems relatively safe here on the campsite most people distancing and following rules

Cap d’Agde, France

Apparently in one of the hotels, 2 members of staff, the whole establishment is being deep cleaned, people in quarantine but as yet no plans to close the resort.

Is that in Le Cap as in the naughty village or in the "normal" part of town ?

How Hellish that would be, arriving at Cap booking into OZ and then being told, sorry you must be in isolation for two weeks !!

Been down here six weeks now and here for another three... to be honest this surely isn’t unexpected and to get this far into the season- I am surprised it has taken to now. Clearly sorry for all those affected but in the world of statistics I can’t help but think it was not a bad result to get to mid August.

We are supposed to be arriving on Friday staying on the campsite for 2 weeks. Does anyone know or heard if they are planning on closing the village and quarantineing people?

Back on March 15th, Oltra stated that the site was not suitable for Quarantine , and closed it 30 minutes after it opened. Your problem may be down to the French and U.K. governments playing tit for tat on your return, and maybe even your arrival.

Yeah I agree. With the amount of sex and close to close contact happening this is a brilliant result to be honest. Although people are wearing masks, even in saunas!

Considering the number of people in the village, this is not a problem... YET. We are booked 29th August (Heliopolis) and intend to come. BE SURE TO TAKE EUROPEAN HEALTH INSURANCE CARD THOUGH.

Cap d’Agde, France

Statistically France is a much safer county than the UK regarding Covid.

Both infection and death rates are 50% higher in the UK, yesterday 14 people died in France compared to over 100 in the UK.

A month ago there were only 7 people in the Herault Department hospitilised with Covid, non in ICU, but it's inevitable that this would change given it's peak season here with 100,000 plus holidaymakers in the Cap area.

As long as people take basic precautions there should be no over-concern about becoming infected.

I work in public health and think there is a degree of panic in some of the posts albeit understandable. Sure there is a risk but as stated by others statistically you are safer in France and even more so in Cap than in the UK. We went last month and going again (hopefully in 2 weeks). We have fun but are not stupid. To be honest other than a couple of bars we felt completely safe and adequate precautions are in place. At the end of the day there is a risk in everything in life, it’s down to individuals to make choices.

Very sensible words.

We were there 2 weeks ago and felt perfectly safe.

We will be back in September all being well.

Huge increase in New cases today in France. Up from 1397 yesterday to 2524 today. Think Boris and Whitty will be pushing the quarantine button very soon if that new case rate continues.

Bet that button is not pressed until the talks with the French about the cross channel migrants is over.
