Changes were to be made on the 1st of August to the wearing of mask in public places but have been brought forward to tomorrow the 20th of July.
So any one coming over you now have to wear a mask in any covered place that receives the public.
Stay frosty out there!!!!

"Thanks for the info, we'll make sure to bring enough masks over.
Are there any rules regarding the type of mask? We have home made ones."
Are there any rules?????
This is French France so of course.
You must put your left ear on first and you can’t call a pig napoleon.
2nd one is true and no any type of mouth covering.
Whilst in the big city yesterday we saw Dutch families wearing orange masks which looked great as that’s their national colour bless them.
Enjoy your visit.

What does this mean? "
It’s called a joke and jokes were very popular in the 80,s.
As in put the strap of the mask on your left ear first before the right ear as in it really doesn’t matter.
And by law in France you really cannot call a pig (pet or otherwise) Napoleon.
As explained in the post.
Hope this helps.

Haha thanks. The English wasn’t that great initially so I wasn’t sure I understood the joke. I’m guessing you guys are native French? |

Native as in French no.
Half Spanish and English.
Bottom half is Spanish and sexy and top half is English and stupid.
But we are native as in we live in France(thankfully).

It’s a 135e fine if caught.
Not needed on beaches or walking just in enclosed places and markets.

Hi OP, thanks for the info...how does wearing of masks work when eating in a restaurant? Is it just compulsory for when you aren’t seating at your table?

This is from our experience:-
We enter wearing our masks and are greeted.
Then we are asked to gel our hands and once done we are shown to our seats.
Once seated you can remove your mask(as new law states) but if you trot off for the toilet it’s mask on again until you return to your seat.
When you go up to pay it’s mask on again.
Leave tummy full mask off outside.
Of course some won’t follow the rules but then if a restaurant/bar didn’t then we would choose to leave.
As for petit bisous you are not supposed to but people are people.
I’ve seen elbows touched and even heels touched but I have not seen kisses myself since the start.
Guidelines are just that as are laws and you will find in places like Cap or big city’s they generally do what ever they want and bollicks to the rules but where we live it’s been very good from the start.
Come to France
Enjoy yourself
And stay frosty out there!!!!!

I also live in France and have not seen anyone kissing by way of greeting.
The rules seem to be fairly well respected as a whole. There are exceptions, the majority being the elderly who either forget or have the the attitude that it won't happen to them.
Shops, restaurants etc. all follow the rules including golf courses - the one I am a member of and play regularly and others I have played competitions at.
I have seen people turned away from a restaurant because they did not have a mask so it is taken seriously.
Gel is readily available in most shops and certainly restaurants.
I carry a small bottle of gel around with me and regularly top this up from a larger one I have at home or in the car.
France is as safe as you make it. Follow the advice and take precautions and you should be fine. Flaunt the rules and you accept the risks.
Just like sex really... |

"What it like for Disneyland Paris going next week ? Will I cancel"
It will be the same as it is now and if it were me then no I wouldn’t cancel.
Look up online for their rules with respect to masks.
Best of luck.
