Folks just looking for a bit help. After the last week of rain and more to comr I am keen having viewed the live cams at Marsillian marina to get to the sun this weekend retunring in 10 days. Clearly the beach is also a big desure after the last 4 summers over there.
To say confused with travel and quarantine etc through different news items and people who have travelled i am keen to hear from anyone who has done Dover to Calais or Eurostar wijt car in last couple of weeks.
My reading of things is that travel should be okay with voluntary quarantine in France only and whilst there the airbridges should come in meaning no quarantine on return to UK.
Keen to know
What has travel through these ports been like in last couple of weeks?
What have the roads and service areas been like on way down. Tend to head via Rouen, Clermont Ferand and over the Milaou. A71 _ A75
What are the resorts / beach and locals like towards visitors just now.
Any feedback most welcome and thanks un advance. It appears all companies are taking bookings apart from Eurocamp in the coming week. |

"We drove down Calais to Le Cap no problems via Clermont.
As ever it’s a pleasure to pay the toll fees and enjoy the drive.
No issues and no pot holes.
"
Thanks for quick response. Yes as you say roads as opposed to swerving to miss potholes here! Did you take the ferry over and if so i take it check in etc was as normal and are thing very quiet down at Cap and in Adge or is it not too bad. Thanks again. |

Ferry was like a ghost ship. We were the only British voices we heard as it appeared many of the other car drivers were heading East.
The roads were very similar.
Le Cap is in its usual bubble although Pig Beach seemed a fraction quieter.
All good and great to be back. |

Can't say that it's ever been a pleasure for us to pay the road tolls.
We're off tomorrow from the Cap for a weeks holiday, up to La Rochelle and back, perhaps 50 quid in petrol but over a 100 in tolls! |

Not quite correct. No annual charge, but a charge when you first register the car in your name. Cost depends on Horse Power, and discount for age. Oh, and a long wait in the Marie to complete the registration. Last time we did it, about 50 per cent of the applicants were rejected for not having the right paperwork. |

Think if the UK government introduced similar motorway toll charges to France and scrapped Road Tax, they would make an absolute bomb.
Perhaps they might even do this to get a bit of revenue back in the coffers post covid. |
