It would be really nice to be able to automatically censor certain words and phrases that are automatic turn-offs

e.g.

*"hUnG"

*Terms of endearment and honorifics e.g. "Sir","Babe"

*Roles

*"Wuu2"

I think

Just out of interest, censor them where? The forums? Messages you receive? Other people’s profiles?

I very much doubt that they’d censor words like that on the forums, it seems to be only highly sensitive trigger words that get censored which makes sense. If they censored every word that someone doesn’t like we wouldn’t have many left to use. And as it stands, we can’t even opt to not see the posts of people we’ve blocked, which I think would be more useful to a lot of us.

In messages received I can see your point, but I’d personally prefer to be able to set filters to block those messages from coming through at all. As it is I use certain words and phrases as a way to filter people out - I know you found the other response unhelpful, but block and delete really is the only way to deal with them.

In other people’s profiles, I can’t see that happening at all. I frequently dislike what I read in other people’s profiles, but I don’t think anyone has the right to decide how someone else’s profile should be. Again, blocking them really is the only option if you see something you don’t like. Unless it’s bad enough to warrant reporting.

Some words ARE censored though.

There are a number of words that you are unable to post in the forum, and similarly, if you type certain words in a message, the site picks them up and advises you to change them in any message you are attempting to send

I disagree. It tells you what you need to know about people.

I think the OP means in messages.

But I agree that people using these in messages kinda filter themselves out of a potential meet.
