Yes! A second thread.

FabFet. A user friendly site for kinky swingers, vanilla/soft kinksters, newbies, novices and beginners to the world's of fet and BDSM who may find it a bit intimidating, extreme or intense and off putting.

I've had the idea of FabFet for a few years now and every time I mention it there's a small amount of interest. I'm now wondering how much interest. So for all you kinky forumites, what say you?

Show your support and lets see if the Fab powers to be are watching and listening.

This sounds like a terrible idea tbh. The owners of this site don't seem to have any real interest in the BDSM/fetish scene (they don't seem to take an interest in the entirety of the swinging scene) so it'll just be Fabs with a new logo.

So they wouldn't be interested in setting up a new business and making more money, with those extra £5 rolling in?

I think that a separate forum would be a good idea, especially as any discussion of kink or fetish gets drowned out and kink shaming seems permissable.

There's a separate one for games (which people don't really bother about) why not fet?

La la land

Followed the previous thread and there were some good points made for and against fabfet.

The one about a different forum here; the negatives for it would be we still wouldn't be able to discuss or put up pictures we would like, also I personally think we would need moderators with an understanding of the scene too. The positives would be that it would be easier for those with these interests to get to know each other, plus be good for total novices to have a peek.

One point made on the other thread about using the established site, and going to munches etc. That is sound advice. But one drawback is that it's sometimes difficult to go to such things due to living in rural areas, work, childcare etc.

Having a place which was inclusive for people who want to give something a go without snobbery would be good. Also as we do here on fab have a forum so people can discuss their kinks and fets without being shamed would be beneficial. With regards to people's worry about the confusion between bsdm and sex if it was a new site then that could be clearly stated by those who already know this.

You need to work out exactly what it is you want.

We use both fab and fet but in different ways. Although onto our second profile we're still relatively new to fab and haven't had a lot of interaction events wise. Fab is set up in a better way for chatting and speaking to people locally, arranging to meet etc. Forums can be fast moving and there's people about who are experienced swingers who can give advice through to the fancy a fuck brigade.

Fet is great for learning about what's out there, there's a lot of information buried throughout the posts and it's very easy to get lost down a rabbit hole reading posts, so to speak. It is very N America centric but because of the way its set up for chat and group chat in particular there's a reason kik kinksters etc is one of the biggest groups.

What gap would fabfet fill? Would it be an online munch? A online meet and great so that kinksters could meet up?

The other consideration and is likely why fab owners may not be interested, general apathy aside, is the legality of it all. As much as swinging could be seen as taboo, it generally isn't illegal (public acts potentially being an exception) but there are plenty of things daily on fet which would be questionable, impact play that leaves marks for example would still be classed as illegal in the UK due to an apparent homophobic bias in the judiciary. All things that need to be ironed out at an early stage to give a direction to any fabfet endeavour.

My personal bet is that they wouldn't be. They already take a fairly conservative stance regarding what can be discussed and what images can be shared so it would take a considerable shift in mindset. The site seem to take a better safe than sorry stance (and I fully understand why) and a similar stance on a fet site just wouldn't work.

I don't like that phrase , if someone doesn't like something they should be allowed a view on it if it is a general question on a thread. Obviously it is different if someone is asking for advice about a kink ( assuming it is within site rules ), then they should leave that thread alone and start their own thread if they want to discuss whether it is a good idea or not.

I have seen people complain about "kink shaming" while doing the same to other people for their kinks.

80% of 'normal' BDSM photos and activities wouldn't pass the current sencorship.

Anyone already active or genuinely interested in BDSM activities would already have a profile on the main current site.

Can think of many reasons why they'd want to keep them separate too.

Personally I think most like myself keep it separate. Most on here don't understand the dybamuc requirements nor appreciated the trust and boundries required. Here it's aimed at NSA whether group fun or individual and then move on to the next.

I'm sure others may think differently but best of luck.

FabFet may help those who don't understand the dynamics of kink and fet, to understand it a bit better. It's the seemingly non-inclusive attitude of some on the other site, those who are entitled to keep the two separate, that deter others away. I'm just suggesting a place where those people who want to learn and explore kink safely, but can't get in through the other site for the reasons mentioned in these threads, can go. To fill that gap and bring in a bit of all inclusive, respectful, non judgemental swinging attitude to kinky play. Not that the kink and Fet scene is lacking in respectful, inclusive nonjudgmental attitude.

I appreciate that some of us want to keep the kink and swinging seperate, but what about those of us who don't?

What about us who want to swink?

As a new site I don't see the viability at all.

There are a few big sites for fet and kink. Not just a Canadian based one either.

Cross over events, well they just don't seem to work long term and those that do well the numbers don't stay high.

A forum space maybe.

A lot of kink discussion is so outside the rules on this site, meaning discussions would be restricted.

My username makes it clear I'm a 'cross over' I just don't think another site would get or keep the numbers required to make it financially viable

Im a big user of the other site but considering fab won’t allow the use of the other sites name in the forum or to send links to it even privately I definitely won’t be discussing a fab version of a fet site on there! Unless you meant a generic swing/fet crossover site possibility completely unrelated fab as a business?

I also know someone who considered this idea. I think it would be well received but it’s the cost and feasibility of set up.
