Following seeing how this emoji was used on the the self shooting thread. I think it should be removed, seeing a constant line of vomit emoji, was uncalled for. It was mindless and doesn't contribute to the discussion, if anything it's used to shame people of their preferences

Totally was not used to shame anyone. The OP even said he didn't feel that way.

I don't think he actually said one way or the other, so in all fairness I'll take that back. However, 3 and more vomit emojis on a row contributed nothing positive to the post. And I've seen it being used on other threads when people don't like something. Now I have no issue with people having preferences or opinions. But use of vomit emoji is just plain lazy and is open to misinterpretation.

Plus others expressed on that thread that they felt they were being kink shamed and it still persisted. So I stand by what I said, the vomit emoji is lazy form of expression that is open to misinterpretation.

I don't think anyone actually said they were being kink shamed, I think the said it was kink shaming but nobody actually felt shamed by it.

Really there's only one way to take that emoji, and that's that something made you feel sick/ill. As much as someone is allowed to like what they like, others are allowed to dislike it, stating that an act males you feel ill isn't shaming the person that likes the act, it's simply stating an opinion.

I don’t have an issue with the vomit emoji. I don’t particularly use it but I see no harm in it generally. It’s just the same as the others. People use emoji to emphasise certain emotions but not every is a flirt. In other words people will use these emojis for all sorts of situations and feelings, sarcasm, happiness, sadness, silliness all wrapped up in a little icon.

I think saying something is disgusting and makes you feel ill is intended to invoke feelings of shame. I think the vomit emoji is used for this purpose at times.

In a town Fab forgot

What surprises me most about this thread is that no one's used the vomit emoji yet.

There's usually one smart are.

Like all emoji, context is everything.

Someone says they like melted cheese, I use the vomit emoji.

Someone says they like being stapled naked to a barn door and ravaged by inebriated butterflys I might used the surprised emoji.

Used in humour, they're fine.

Used to shame, not.

Context and know your audience.

I do think some people need to grow up a bit and get a sense of humour though.

I agree with you I don't find it offensive when it's light-hearted fun. For example teasing me about food preferences which actually happened last night on the forum.

I think fab is a way for a lot of people to express their kinks etc that they are unable to in their day to day lives. And we should be mindful when they discuss them that we don't jump on the vomit emoji bandwagon

Let's get this right, am I correct that this was an adult being "bullied" by a vomit emoji or is it primary school children in a play ground fall out ?

If it's aimed at someone who is making themselves sick through bulimia and is targeting that illness then fair enough it's wrong

I stand by my thoughts (you've got your own ) that sometimes people need to man up and whatever the female version is.

Couldn't the recipient of the vomit emoji reply with a wanker emoji have a smile about it.

I doubt very much the OP felt bullied. A lot of threads have humour in the posts, that's what happens. I hope he didn't feel shamed, I don't think that was anyone's intention.

Totally agree everyone is entitled to their own thoughts and perspectives. And appreciate what you are saying I really do. What my arguement is that a repetitive line of vomit emoji doesn't contribute much to the debate and is a bit lazy. Unlike the difference of opinion we have we have both expressed them without insulting the other. Thanks for your opinion really do appreciate it
