Just a quick update on videos.
Seen lots of questions so going to put an official thread on.
Videos are BETA functionality that is in test, and went tentatively live late last week. We are figuring how this works, working out any problems and continuing to monitor. We expect this BETA process to continue until we are satisfied with how this works.
We are slowly opening the adding of videos to more people. We are prioritising those with site supporter AND verified AND photo-verified. You can check if you have the add video button via your manage photos page.
The videos are intended to add some life and sound to profiles, the aim is NOT to become a porn site. Lots of those places already where long, porn videos can be posted and viewed!
Even when fully live, we intend to restrict the availability of adding profile videos to those who are not new to the site, to those who are verified and to those who are site supporters. What we don't want is idiots joining, uploading problematic videos, and spoiling the community on here. This feature is for genuine users only and we will restrict it to those by various mechanisms.
Some quick answers to common questions, bearing in mind everything is subject to us changing our minds:
Q. I can't add a video, it's not fair
A. We're rolling this out slowly, bear with us. No one sex/account type is being prioritised other than as laid out above.
Q. Are you going to add a "new videos" section.
A. We've got no current plans to.
Q. Are you going to add a "hot videos" section.
A. We've got no current plans to.
Q. Do I have to be a site supporter to add videos?
A. Yes, at present and in future.
Q. Do I need to be photo-verified?
A. Photo-verified and well verified accounts will get the link sooner. If you are not photo-verified, this will speed up seeing the add videos buttons.
We'll update this thread as we make changes.

Just an update on this.
We've seen a few reports and examples of videos being cut too short. If you have this problem we've started another thread; please check it out and add your details so we can fix.

Yesterday, we opened the videos to more people. Once this bug is fixed we plan to open it wider still.

To anyone wondering if they can upload videos. If you visit your "manage photos" page if you have the button, you will see it at the top under the usual add photo button.
