We're doing a beta test of videos on profiles.
We've invited a small handful of people to try this out, while we work out any kinks and figure how it should work.
Videos can be up to 20 seconds long only. Longer ones are cut off at that length.
The intention ISN'T to make Fab into a porn site. Far too many other places for that, and not our intention.
The intention IS to let people add some life and sound to their profiles.
Rules for videos are same as for photos, so profile owner MUST be in video.
While in beta:
Currently only invited people can add videos (see other thread if you want an invite)
Only site supporters can add videos
Only site supporters can view
When live:
Only verified users will be able to add videos
Please note:
This is beta, test functionality only. It may stay, it may not.

Came here question the same thing.
This throws up all kinds of consent and data protection issues.
Fab has yet to comply with GDPR as regards privacy notices etc. |

Seen two, 4 sec and 6 sec clips. No way of proving who is in it. Could easily be a clip off the internet.
One thing I have noticed though, us if I want to see more I need to remove it change my filters.
This could result in some interesting reproccussions for those unaware or forget to go hidden or reset them again. |

Bad idea to allow them as public better that they can be sent or opened by friends etc as the current pictures are.
Showing videos is going to mean more pervs and picture collectors on here as its free swamp the site with more time wasters |

This is what I was thinking. Already there is enough profiles with fake pics lifted off the net. Nothing stopping anyone doing it with vids.
Also what about vids being put up by guys of conquests that have no idea their private parts are being splashed over the net. With tattoo culture as it is people can be recognised. I know people who have already from pics |

Been saying the same thing, and moderation will be harder and far more time consuming than a simple photo, which already mods seem to struggle with at times. Maybe they'll opt for the apple and Microsoft approach and have it done by the users. |

No way of editing out faces and identification marks.

I really don't think that video is the way to go for Fab.
Too many, mainly single guys, already view it as a sex site and thus will only make it worse.

Think adding GIFs to messages would be much more interesting.

I think this will be a great feature! Potential meets can see us in the “flesh”. It likely won’t be popular with those who over edit their photos or are using someone else’s pictures though!  |

What difference is seeing the video to pics? No offence but they are the same tits that are in your pics. Have already seen videos that have clearly used filters. Those using other people’s photos may well already have their videos too to upload. It makes no difference to the site one iota, other than as pointed out above, those here to collect pictures will now be able to collect videos. As site supporter costs are reasonably low, it makes it cheaper than a porn site. Strangely this update came just after the abandonment of the porn ID rules. I’m not slating admin for looking for ways to generate income, I just hope that it is invested back into the site in way of improvements in searches, area location structure, layouts, emojis, chat camera quality etc. |

I think it could be used.
Even if it’s just writing our fab name live on a body. Can’t get more genuine than that.
Got one video up, but still doesn’t show under any searches. I can only see ones added by local people or hotlist (basically the update page). Some good cheeky ones so far.

Even for NI. Simply to use our post code to prevent getting people from 20 miles across the water appearing instead of local land accessable people. Does my head it getting Scottish, Welsh and mainland England in the midst of locals. |

Excellent idea OP, I agree we don’t want a porn site. I feel videos will help defeat the fakes that plague fab . Also, I feel videos will bolster fab and give the site an overall new and improved validity.

I personally would never upload a video, but I think it is a brilliant addition to the site as many people wanted that feature. I feel it would better to be limited to friends only, covering the consent angle. If you have added someone as a friend, you have consented to people viewing more private views.
I can't view the videos despite being a site supporter, but I suspect it is my type of phone.

I predict a lot of drama and misuse with this new feature. The mods are struggling already with pics, so this will only be worse. All it contributes is more wank fodder and a other competion outlet for the fab limelight addicts.

Ban fakes via their IP, have a report function. Ring fence single guys give them their own space cam room etc.
If the true stats of this site were published I bet its 60% single male or fake couples profiles. A site owner should dip into their pockets once in a while to upgrade and improve their Web presence. |

It makes a difference to me, clearly not to you though so simply don’t use the feature, you’re not forced to.
Thank you for proving my point though, the same tits you see in the video are the same ones in my pictures which confirms I am who I show myself to be! That’s the whole point. Besides you are not my “target market” so your opinion on my videos doesn’t offend me, nor is it one I’d take on board as I don’t seek couples.
I doubt there’s that many fake accounts with a bunch of videos they can upload to dupe people even more.
In regards to filters I meant those that make people appear younger & wrinkle free, or photoshop, less likely to happen on video logically. The same with those who attempt to appear several dress sizes slimmer, a video can’t do that for you either. And those who use 10 year old pictures will be less likely to upload videos. No doubt some of us will use the vide feature as a new filter. So there’s plenty positives.

If we are all vigilant and Report or check pictures that we think or feel are fake then we can help the Mods. After all they are only volunteers and the site is trying to do the very best it can to support all of us

I do but by the time I’ve reported them and they are taken down you don’t know how many times they have been seen/copied/shared etc which is not good when they are clearly showing other people’s faces. I see loads that get through the mods like that. I’m not a mod and wouldn’t want to be but they are clearly swamped as it is. |

Video won’t be free reign for everyone, I like the idea of only site supporters being able to view. Of course not all site supporters are “decent” but it’s better than giving the option to anyone.
I think if people are worried about privacy or them being downloaded, don’t post any videos that could identify you, or don’t post any at all. X |

I could now put your face on any porn clip I wanted to and use that to set up a verified profile impersonating you.
This site does not need videos imo. It struggles with moderation of the photo content as it is.

We are not talking about videos of people's faces. We are on about men pretending to be women and couples not being couples. A video of just the body clothed holding the sign like we do now saying it vocally would get rid of alot of fakes. Deep fake could happen to anyone with any social media platforms where you have a facepic and end up on any porn site. Not just on this site. |

I’m self employed so my job isn’t a worry, I used to webcam so my family aren’t an issue either.

I dont see a difference. Videos can be manipulated just like still images can. And you will still get the same idiots posting their verification video public... which can then be downloaded and manipulated resulting in tons of new fakes profiles verified by video.
I think its even worse if you are suggesting verie videos dont have faces in them. Then you cant see a mouth moving. Just add your own voice to a stolen video and overwrite the text. Cant see that being difficult in this day and age.

People have been faking others since the internet came about, adding a video feature won’t stop people faking others nor will it make it any worse than it already is, in my view.
If you’re that concerned about these things the best way to avoid any of your pictures being used is don’t post any, on here or social media. Problem solved. |

We've invited a small handful of people to try this out, while we work out any kinks and figure how it should work.
Videos can be up to 20 seconds long only. Longer ones are cut off at that length.
The intention ISN'T to make Fab into a porn site. Far too many other places for that, and not our intention.
The intention IS to let people add some life and sound to their profiles.
Rules for videos are same as for photos, so profile owner MUST be in video.
While in beta:

I think videos is a good idea.i am not yet a site supporter and will need to pay to see videos. If I was a vid pic collector I could go on so many free porn sites and watch porn that takes my fancy.
With the videos on here being posted on the profile and so that person or persons involved obviously like to show themselves and also there is the voyeur attraction. Some site members like to be watched without having to meet.
I think it is down to the individuals who post. If members feel that their photos or vids could be collected then they shouldntpost them.
Profiles who have posted vids have not been complaining of infringements of rights or collectors.
Let this be a choice to the individuals wether to post or not.
And once again if collectors pay site membership to collect 20 second clips then they are obviously lacking knowledge when you can collect longer videos for free by just doing a google search.
Also this could be a way of getting to know people a little more before meeting as opposed to using over platforms like whats app and snap chat etc. This could allow people to get to know each other more all under one roof. Also for people who dont have cams it is another way to introduce your self with a hello in person wether it is sexual or not.

It does concern me. I dont do those things already. I dont personally have a problem that needs solving.
Posting my feedback in response to what some people consider are benefits is perfectly reasonable for me to do.
Just because something has been going on for some time doesnt mean the site needs to be a facilitator. And given the moda cant handle the photo traffic cant really ser how they'll handle the influx of videos.
I think I've said enough now. So I'll leave you to it.

It will be interesting to see what the members who have and are still posting more than one video think about this. I have seen friends posting videos for friends only viewing so these cannot be collected or abused by anyone other than the friends they have chosen to add to their profile.
If videos are an issue then I think cams should be too. Cams can be set up during meets without all parties knowing. More often than not cams showing intimate sessions do now show faces and any persons in the room might not know they are being watched.
I say wait for the chosen members trying this out to have a response before everyone judges and criticises. |

This site does not need videos imo. It struggles with moderation of the photo content as it is.
We are not talking about videos of people's faces. We are on about men pretending to be women and couples not being couples. A video of just the body clothed holding the sign like we do now saying it vocally would get rid of alot of fakes. Deep fake could happen to anyone with any social media platforms where you have a facepic and end up on any porn site. Not just on this site.
I dont see a difference. Videos can be manipulated just like still images can. And you will still get the same idiots posting their verification video public... which can then be downloaded and manipulated resulting in tons of new fakes profiles verified by video.
I think its even worse if you are suggesting verie videos dont have faces in them. Then you cant see a mouth moving. Just add your own voice to a stolen video and overwrite the text. Cant see that being difficult in this day and age.
The site will just become awash with clips stolen from porn sites.
I feel any benefit is far outweighed by the negative.
Anyway. I have seen a couple of clips. And honestly. I have no reason to believe they're not anything other than stolen from a porn site.
And dont even get me started on consent.

Adding a male voice to a female video for a verification isn't going to work though is it? I'm talking about a male pretending to be female or a male pretending to be a couple. May not get rid of all fakes but will help alot. If people want to upload a video of with there face in it it's there decision isnt it? Verification pics are private so the videos can be too. If you don't like the videos people are posting you don't have to watch them either everyone is different in what they like and want from this site. There’s cock pictures on here over toilets and pussy spread with a cock inside, photos that are far far more “porn” like than say a page three type tit video.
That in my opinion “cheapens” the site. But each to their own. Some like the explicit photos.

We do not need to view videos if we dont like the idea and all have the option to block profiles that we find distasteful or not to our liking.
I have always liked this site as it gives people the choices that suits them and the option to not look if it doesn't.
Let everyone one have their profile as they please. We are all in control of what we do or do not post and options to show what we want to post. |

Not sure. Vids have a play option visible so you know it's a vid. Dont know how this would effect the functioning of the site. They have enough servers to cope with photo uploads and cams. Maybe the capability is down to lack of people in admin to cope with the amount of submissions to verify |
