Don't know if I'm the only one experiencing this.
Every time I do a browse profiles search and find somebody who I might like to get jiggy with I think great they are showing on-line now so I'll send a message to see if I can grab their attention (us guys got to be quick and to the point).
So I hit the message button and craft my bespoke, witty not too long and not too short missive carefully reading the profile and including the requisite photos if required. That usually takes a couple of minutes, hit the send button, all good.
After it appears in the send box I notice they are not online anymore I click the profile and it says last online 6 minutes ago! This doesn't just happen occasionally it is every fucking time and it's always 6 fucking minutes! Is this some web cache failing to refresh profiles or something? Please comment if this happens to you or if you have an explanation |

It sounds a bit like you’re working off the assumption that they’re online because they’re looking to meet right now, so time is of the essence. Many people aren’t, so don’t worry about it. They’ll get it as and when. |

I don't tend to do meet now messages, and I know that they will get to it eventually. It will just be buried under the other 347 messages that they've got from guys since they were last logged on.
Do you read oldest first or newest first, or go for most eye catching headline? |

I read oldest first and when I'm online I don't spend all the time reading messages. I read forums, local updates, pop into chat rooms. Just because there are unread messages in the inbox and new ones are coming in - doesn't mean I'm chained to the inbox. I'll read them eventually. Patience is the key. |

I think he's working on the assumption that if they are showing as online, they are actually online. The same thing happens to me quite often. As someone said there's probably an update lag of about 5 minutes and a sent message seems to force an update. |

So what’s the issue then? If he’s just reaching out to initiate contact, there isn’t a problem. |
