The options available come up with results for people sometimes 70+miles away.

I find if you look for a meet today all the females are at the other end of the country so set your profile to the other end of the country then do meet today you get the females near you but then they turn out to be a couple or a complete fake lol |

I’m similar in Halifax which is quite good and bad. I can search North East, North West and the midlands to find people within 20 miles or so, but also see people nearing the Scottish Borders!  This makes it difficult
Would a distance from me option not be possible in meets and events such as when searching for a ‘meet today’ when using the advanced search options?

This. we get people messaging from the west Midlands thinking we are still the midlands. When clearly Norfolk is East and its no where near the centre of the country. It actually takes very long long time to get anywhere in our county let alone the surrounding ones and I don't think fab having it down as East Midlands helps us when we state we only want to meet people who live within an hour of us

We've been on the site for 5 or 6 years now, and people have grumbled about the areas for the whole time.
I suspect that the site owners don't seem it enough of an issue to be worth looking at. Alternatively there could be technical issues with changing these areas, with so many users already using what is there, it is difficult to get them to all alter their existing data.
What ever the reason though, the site owners rarely respond to ANY thread on here, so we never hear their position.
