I'm sure the forum is full of similar threads, but I'm wondering why this site doesn't implement the frequently-used verify-by-email-link arrangement, to try and reduce the number of dodgy profiles?
I know it's possible to create fake email accounts, but it might dissuade some of the fakes if they have to do that first? |

Fab doesn't dislose its arsenal for fake account vetting etc and is a user supported site, partly relying on each of us to report inappropriate behaviour. It's so long since I joined that I only remember adding my email address and would have guessed that I'd verified it.
If ever in doubt, report others to Admin, letting them know the level of uncertainty that you have, as well as your reasons for your suspicions, so that they can research it further. |

When you join Fab, you get the following email
"Complete your registration
Thank you for registering with http://www.fabswingers.com
Please click the link below to finish your registration:
http://www.fabswingers.com/verify/XXXXXXX
If you didn't register with us, and have received this email by mistake, please ignore it. We will not contact you again.
So you don't forget...
Your username is: xxxxxxxx
http://www.fabswingers.com"
Surely that's verifying the email address? |
