At the ends of some of my PMs and I see it on forum posts too. Two question marks at the end of a message. Makes it look like I'm not sure of what I'm saying. Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed this?

chester

If one is questioning random question marks how many question marks are needed?

For instance:is it "why ".??" ?"

or for poor grammar (but modern emphasis) would it be "why ".??" ?????

I think I'll lay down now before I'm tempted to emblazon that with an emoji (non-recognised).

Not sure. I consider forum posting more natural if I transcribe how I speak face to face rather than adhere strictly to the linguistic rules - partly for brevity but also because it feels more human to me. I save the grammar fixation for long-form blogging and suchlike.
