I just had a "couple" get quite shirty with me because I asked them for an upto date photo.
There only public photo was uploaded in November 2009, (nearly a decade) and there last verification was in 2013 (5 years ago)
Peoples appearance changes and sadly relationships end. I have no doubt that the profile in question is NOT genuine yet they still have a photo verified tick.
I think photos should be automatically removed after a set period of time and also people should have to photo varify again too

They may have other pics in private more up to date. They may not have been meeting for a while. they may have been meeting but not asking for verifications.
However, if you think a profile needs looking at click on report and admin will take a look. |

I'd swerve and move on -
I totally understand your way of thinking....

I think old pictures can serve a purpose, but anyone is right to ask for up to date pictures or information to assure yourselves. Depending on what's asked, either party can of course take it or leave it, but you're within your rights to ask. (like I get put out being asked to do anything too complicated to verify myself, but then I have plenty of fairly recent meet verifications, and my photos are all dates the day they were taken - although I appreciate that people can't know that I'm honest about that) |

I know a couple on here whose age and profile pics bare no relation to either. It’s a bit disingenuous to be honest and only leads to someone being disappointed ?? |

"What stops someone just uploading an old photo ? "
This had some mf couple mail me a (very long) while back now, but only talked to the male and he started sending pictures of his "wife" sleeping!
They were verified by a single male and a couple 4 years prior. Reported it, it got removed and then he was back again with photo verification, same photos sending me messages, no sign of wife.
They just save the picture, unless you date it when you join there's no getting around it. |

Yeah, just re-uploading old photos is a problem, most digital images have a date taken in the settings, but that is easily changed.
I suppose best thing to do is educate users that if a profile hasn't been verified recently or doesn't have recent pics take that profile with a pinch of salt |

No need to remove the pics they may still be good to look at even if not current and a lot of people like looking at pics maybe just automatically move them to an archive album after 2 years but still be public to view if they were before? Although tbh if the date is on them it's easy enough to work out how old they are?
