Couldn't agree more.
This would be a good thing for everyone. People who want to bareback can find like-minded people.
People who don't want to won't be bothered by requests anymore. |

I think you exemplify why such a button is needed here. We don't come in here to be preached at. There is no such thing as 100% safe in sex, so everyone of us runs a risk of some sort. We judge that for ourselves. |

It’s not Russian roulette at all. Russian Roulette carries a 1 in 6 chance of death. I bet 99% of the people who make that frankly stupid statement probably do things with a much higher risk of death. Chill out and let us enjoy our personal preference. |

Nah. I remember someone saying it in an old thread, so I made an account and took a look to confirm. Got in and out unscathed, and the "Fab has to promote safe sex" argument falls flat.
If barebackers could find other barebackers on here easily, they'll be happy. And if strictly safe sexers want to avoid barebackers, it would be much easier for them. I don't see how this isn't a win-win.
Would probably lead to a reduction in all the bb threads too, which almost always turn sour. |

Couldn't agree more. Not a hard feature to implement. Just another tick box and script for searching.
Not sure how anyone can argue against this on the basis of STIs. That line of reasoning presumes that somehow not having the option stops people from doing BB, which clearly it does not.
Being able to filter to only show people who don't do BB would be a useful feature. It's not guaranteed accurate but then what feature on any site like this is?! |

And not only that, your suggestion assumes people who don't tick anything must be into bareback, which isn't always the case.

You simply code the search to be the inverse of the selection of the box. It's actually incredibly simple. Hell even Excel can do it!
Ticking the box is a 1. Not ticking the box is a zero.
For me the simplest way would be a drop down selection box with 3 options:
1: Bareback only - Return search results on profiles with value zero in this variable.
2: Safe sex only - Return search results on profiles with value 1 in this variable
3: Either - Return search results on profiles with either zero or 1 in this variable.
I mean this is incredibly ELC level coding. |

Well that's very much on the individual to decide whether they want to tick the box (though it could be made mandatory). But in either event I fail to see how it's a bad thing to give people the option to categorise themselves and be only found in searches by those who who match their intent.

True there is no such thing as safe sex but you can minimise the risk.

It kind of already is, if you do a search and change the number that comes after 'interest=' to 192 in the URL. You get searching for members interested in bareback but obviously no one on here can check that box, so it brings up no one. |

The only way of catching HIV is by fucking someone not on treatment(who probably doesn't know they have it) who will have a high viral load and more likely to pass it on. |

Stats re STIs need looking at from various sources as all sorts of demographics come into play. Technically it iant hard to do otherwise it wouldnt have been put on fabguys..morally same for same rationale. The option is there already. You can indicate safe sex on your profile or not.
Would assume they are referring to condoms on or off.
As we are dealing with multiple IQs maybe a more to the point setting would help certain persons identify they do not wish to practice safe sex. |

The point is if it's on the sister site, why isn't on here as well. As it is currently, you can't search for people that haven't checked safe sex as an interest. Also, are you trying to say everyone who's ticked safe sex wouldn't also tick bareback if it was an interest as well? |

It makes me laugh how guys think that oral without a condom is somehow safe and frown upon bb anal/vag. You're more likely to get an std in your throat and you can get hiv from oral also. So much ignorance around unfortunately. And people who have hiv cant pass it on as the prescribed hiv medication suppresses the virus making it undetectable. Its a scientific proven medical fact. The only risk is people who dont know they have it hence the importance of regular testing x |
