In my experience it seems to be most effective for women and couples winking single men. These two groups get their time wasted by “us” single guys so they don’t want to invest too much time in a message to start with. In contrast, they receive loads from button-happy lazy single guys that aren’t what they are looking for. |

Makes a difference to us.
If we're winked at by someone with a profile that grabs our attention, we'll wink back.
A standard profile, we're unlikely to do, as we've little idea on attraction |

I definitely look and prefer them to inane messages which I then need to delete. When someone winks and they are not a million miles away or out of my preferences then I can check out their profile and decide whether I wink back or not |

We receive quite a number of winks. We see them as someone showing an interest, which is exactly what they are intended for. We respond or not depending on whether we think it could go anywhere.

In my opinion winks are only good if the person sending them has a good profile with at least one nice photo that makes me curious... I find it strange how many guys wink and their profile has next to nothing on it and no photos of any sort... wink deleted  |
