To make winks less of an annoyance and give them some real meaning might it not be a good idea to limit all users to a small number of winks per day? (3 maybe?)
Winks are currently just a type of unwanted spam for most female and couple fabbers. |

Winks have genuine meaning coming from women or couples but perhaps less meaning from men as the are so many men on here and so many profiles say "don't wink", "don't check winks etc"... |

I agree with the OP.
I don't look at who's winked at me, because there are so many of them. I get the impression that some guys just wink every woman in their area, at least once a month. They're just playing the numbers game, and hoping to get a 1% nibble-rate, rather than signifying any genuine interest in me.
If winks were a 'scarce resource', which people have to think more carefully about using, they would be more meaningful, and I might be inclined to look at them again. |

We are quite happy to receive winks. How do you know they're annoying spam for most couples and women? |

I think they're only an 'annoyance' for single men, who see their winks being ignored (just like their messages). It frustrates them that Fab has a communication channel that doesn't work for them, because 'other' single men misuse the facility  |
