We're trialling a new feature that lets you "Fab" a photo if you "like" it.
You'll see it above any photo you view at full size.
It's a way of people tagging photos they think are "Fab" and it's then a feedback loop for the photo uploader that their photos are appreciated.
Some questions about this:
Q. If someone Fab's a photo of mine and I then set the photo private do they still see it on their Fab'd page?
A. No. Your photo privacy settings are always respected and if you set to private it will be removed from peoples Fab'd pages. If you set to friends only it will be removed from anyone's Fab'd page who isn't a friend.

Q. Is my "Fab'ing" an item public?
A. Yes, if you Fab something others and the photo owner will be able to see you've done that (err, except we've not yet written that bit of code).

Q. I hate it and don't want my photos Fabbing!
A. Opt out available on the privacy page http://www.fabswingers.com/my/filters

Q. If I opt out are all my Fab'd photos removed from people's Fab'd pages?
A. Yes.

Q. Will I be able to see "most Fab'd items"?
A. At some point, yes.

Q. Can I see who has "Fab'd" my stuff?

Yes, you can undo at the time or if you visit the page later there will be a "You've already Fab'd this. Remove your Fab of it" link.

Love the idea! After all - there's nothing like a nice bit of good feedback! Plus it will encourage some members (not mentioning any in particular! Lol) to perhaps put a little more effort into their pics! Always good to see great new ideas guys! Cheers! X  |

wondering if I can get fab people I meet to verify/thumbs up my pics I's say most of them would know I was there with them...as it appears fabpic mod(s) seem to have trouble identifying me in pics.... |

i feel u should be able to see who has fab'd your pics !
dnt think its that great at the min cause ppl who fab a pic get to see it all the time in (pics they have fab'd )this means that pic collectors will love this
does any1 else feel the same way ???
it would be a better thng if u can leave a wee comment under the pic so u can see who likes it and why |

You could check your pics individually and see if any have been Fab'd but it would be a PITA.

ok just seen that we will be able to see who looks at ur pics dut it does not stop pic collectors goin round all the profiles on a we fabing spree lol
and that would mean they have all the pics they like best in 1 place lol ON THEYRE PROFILE

If you don't want people fab'ing your pics you can opt out from privacy page http://www.fabswingers.com/my/privacy
Otherwise the privacy rules that apply to your pics apply to who can fab them i.e. public anyone can friends only friends can private is private

ok i understand that but i think it would be more approriate if when someone fabs you, am email is sent to you for you to confirm or decline. that way you would still be in control of who can have instant access to to ur pics |

I agree totally - this is a tool for pic collectors and does nothing to enhance your profile .. the 'thumb' icon should appear next to the pic on the profile with the amount of likes.. the profile owner should be able to accept 'likes' or decline. this would sort out the pic hunters from the real swingers |

This site is a mere pimple when it comes to website adult photo content, there are numerous sites where there are far more photos that people can download should they wish to do so, going to the trouble of combing Fab profiles to 'rob' photographs would be a silly excercise for avid photo collectors....when there are far greater libraries of saucy photos on the web. |

Ive just clicked on your profile, clicked on gallery and screen dumped your whole gallery and saved it to my PC....Took three clicks.
As opposed to clicking on 'Pics ive fabbed', which is one click.
Personally, cant see the real difference (apart from 2 extra mouse clicks) and Ill have you in my hotlist so I can remember to look again when you get new ones.
OK, the above is fabricated, but cant see it will make a huge difference TBH, people will collect pics no matter what, anything that we post on the internet (in public gallery) is gonna be available to any tom dick and harry (once they create a profile).
If your not happy, do as Admin say, opt out and then maybe ensure that all your pics are in private gallery.

We'd have thought the issue wasn't really Pic collectors, but more 1. If someone Fabs your pic you may be interested in them too, (a bit like a wink), and 2. Being able to monitor who has Fab'd your pics means more awareness should you feel that a user really needs to be blocked to due to excessive 'creepiness' lol x |

i have my pics set to friends only. this means i trust my friends to look, from wot i understand this new thingy is so that my friends can say if they like my pics or not,peeps on my friends lists aint gonna see them (i hope).
mine are all boring anyway but if peeps dont want pic collectors then set ur bloody pics to private or remove them from the site simple as , not that hard to do really is it,

I'm pissing myself laughing at the idea of 'Fab'-ing photos . So much so that I've made both my pics 'Fab'-able, and I'll be very disappointed if I've not been Fab'd by the end of the weekend LOL
Anyone who wants to add my pics into their personal 'wank bank' (brought to you by Fab in only 1 click, not 3!) - go right ahead , it doesn't bother me. I take responsibility for my own privacy anyway, and for those who want to be more 'open', the opt-out facility takes care of that.
However, I can see that this feature will be used by the single males more than anybody (like winking, it's just another way of paying a compliment, which we can ignore if we wish), and I can imagine that it will add to the banter in the chatrooms. (PS guys, I am not gonna Fab your pics until I see how this idea works out, so don't even bother asking me to!)
And woe betide the first person who puts up a thread moaning that "I've Fab'd all her pics and she still won't reply to my messages" |

Really like the idea, but the terminology is a bit trite (to name it after the site)... couldn't you have stuck with the "like" terminology from facebook that everyone is already used to? |

We rather like this idea. But i wish people would stop confuseing this site with facebook. Like the people who just try and collect friends.
You say you will be able to see who has FAB'ed your pics. Are there any plans to being able to see who has added you to their hotlist. |

Thanks to everyone for their feedback so far. Ability to see who has Fab'd your stuff is coming shortly, as is Top Fab'd photos page. Timescale: Next few weeks.
There have been over 72,000 Fabbings of photos since this went live a couple of days ago

I was thinking the same,its not as if you get the option by just looking at a profile,its only if you click on a pic that you get the option to fab it
I very rarely do that so if I had'nt read this thread I would'nt have had a clue,I never click on my own pics either so would'nt know if they had been fabbed

(and @HPC) We'll be improving the mechanisms for the way this works, so at some point in the future it'll be obvious how to see who has Fab'd your stuff (and it won't involve checking individual photos).
We also put a note in the main friend feed about Fab'd stuff when it went live. Over 15,000 people have Fab'd photos so far, so it has spread beyond the thousand or so forumers.

The "most recent" shows "Fabs" left during past 24 hours. You are looking at your total Fabs.

Not bothered about pic collecters. Do what you want with our watermarked pics.
Our "friends" will get the best pics e mailed to them. If you have pics on here that you don't want "collected", don't have them on here, simples.

The algorithm actually looks at Fab'd within 12 hours, not 24 as we say on the page. We'll correct either way once we look at the implications (i.e. we'll change to 24hrs if that gives better results or leave as 12 and correct the note).

Turns out 12 hours gives better, fresher results otherwise photos get "stuck" at top for longer. We'll update the note. Your photo had 3 likes in past 12 hours which is why it wasn't showing.

It only looks at photos uploaded with the past 30 days and it counts Fab'd actions within past 12 hours.

I've changed a public photo to private, but it is still saying it's been fab'd 9 times (by people who aren't on my friends list)...is this still showing up on their fab'd lists?? |
