I like to do my bit to keep the quality of Fab members as high as possible by every now and then trawling through the newly posted pics and checking them with tineye and the new google reverse image search and reporting any fakes I find (you can be guaranteed to find at least a few every day).

However, isn't there supposed to be someone who's job it is to manually approves all of the pics that get uploaded before they go live on the site?

Should they not be using these tools as a matter of course?

If not why not? It takes 2 seconds per pic and requires no technical skill.

Afterall - as a member I can only check the public pics that get uploaded, so there's only so far that I can go to do my bit.

Next point - why is it that when someone is caught posting fake pics, sometimes the only action that is taken is that the pics are removed (there's 2 fake pic posters from yesterday where this has happened) - surely a ban is the only possible outcome? at the very least a temporary suspension of the account that can only be lifted by performing a photo-verification (after all they may really be a porn star or glamour model - in which case bring them on lol!)

The biggest problem with Tinyeye is that it also throws up photos that are posted by members on various sites they use.

For instance I post on UK EX...Newbie Nudes...etc.

These photos are also on several American sites, not because I posted them on there, but because others have downloaded them from UK EX and Newbie Nudes and uploaded them to these sites without my permission.

Now can you see the problem?

Fair point - but let me ask you this.

If after posting a pic you received a message from admin pointing out that the same pic had been posted on various sites on the internet, and would you therefore be so kind as to complete a photo-verification (assuming you hadn't already) to confirm that you were the person in the pics - would you find that to be an unreasonable request?

TBH, seen the odd 'iffy' pic on a profile just makes us click off it and move to the next one....

Although its wrong, and often report them too, its also another tool in the box on how to spot a fake.

If its too good to be true, it often is.

You're right, we shouldn't be removing fake pics from accounts, we should be suspending the account and we'll check into why this didn't happen and make sure it does in future.

Having been verified by several other members with actual meets....why would I feel the need to?

I don't need to read your post again, I don't feel the need to photo verify myself because I am a member who actively meets other members and has received enough verifications for doing so.

If Admin felt the need to insist that I photo verified myself I would have to point them in the direction of my various 'Meet' verifications.

Do my photos appear on other websites?

Yes, you are damn right they do, and until it becomes a proviso of this site that all photos posted are 'exclusive' to this site only that will be the case.

London and Cheshire

on your point about pics being check evrytime by image mods... even if it only takes a couple of minutes per image, with the amount of pics being uploaded every day, this could take hours.

Good for you _obleton for doing your bit to maintain the quality of this site and reduce the number of fakes.

apologies for the tread necromancy but I have a couple of questions for admin.

I came across a profile yesterday, pic looked a bit too good to be true so I ran it through the google reverse image search and found 3 facebook profiles and 1 random forum profile all using the same pic.

24 hours later the profile is still up, along with 2 others that I discovered and reported with fake pics too - it doesn't normally take that long - is the report function working?

Furthermore it was a brand new profile - joined just that afternoon - but that very same day "she" managed to fit in 2 meets and get verified for them - ok not impossible, but in my view that's fishier than the fleetwood fishing fleet, especially considering the fake pic.

what happens to the verifiers?

The two recent reports you've submitted are still pending. They'll be processed today.

Althought these are usually fake profiles (if pictures are elsewhere) we do operate some caution because sometimes genuine users are on other sites, have their photos stolen and re-posted. Again this is a judgement call and we use other factors to determine.

If we confirm that someone has left a fake verification they are either stripped of their verification tick + verifications and issued a warning OR they are permanently suspended by Admin, as decided by us.

Actually those two reports have already been processed if you re-check the profiles you'll see they have been appropriately resolved.

I think fake pics are generally very easy to spot......Ive never been tempted to report them on the basis I consider them poor gits but when they get round to messaging me, then I usually challenge them ..... but on one occasion the poor guy was in fact genuine, oops! Self-policing seems the way to go in terms of the exhaustive efforts it would take admin to do the job.....but over-zealous users are more common than fake pics....imo! A

lol tobes i agree totally. and not being a porn star mine are real ..but what if the fake pics belong to a 15 year old that as lied to join the site with the intention of viewing cams and perving pics then a ban is a must as this scenario is possible ....Glow

All my pics are of me and I wouldn't think anyone would be in their right mind to steal them, but you mention finding some pics on facebook, some of mine I use on my facebook profile, so it is possible for pics to be on there as well as here
