... I know I’m opening myself up to a barrage of abuse, but here goes ...

How about adding an option to list your relationship status on your profile? Single, married, relationship/partner etc. I know that some people refuse to meet others who are in a relationship, and there are others who are just here for the fun of it and aren’t fussed at all. And I know that a lot of people will lie about it on single profiles, but a lot will be honest and it cuts down your search. Just a suggestion

People can just lie.

The same way bi guys list themselves as straight. The same way 90% of smokers list themselves as non-smokers etc

I think it's a great idea. Yes, some people will lie, but I would prefer if it was included in basic information/details.

I would prefer it too. Remember some people who are going behind a partners back my prefer a partner like that for safety

Sounds good to me. Surely people are lying all time on here anyway about their relationship status in their profile text or conversations with others. This is a risk that is already here and most have their methods to filter out the genuine from lier. I think most people would know to keep using their filtration methods.
