Option to block 'Hide on who looked at me' and 'Hide profile'
Jump to: Newest in thread
EDITED:
Just thinking it might be good if there was an option under Privacy that allowed you to block users, who have decided to hide their profile from appearing on the who looked at me list or hidden their entire profile, from being able to view your profile?
With no option in place it seems very one sided and helpful to potential stalkers.
I fully understand, respect & support the fact that people should have the right to hide their profile but I would also like the option to stop them looking at mine while they're hidden.
Sits back and waits for someone to point out that this option already exists or it's been discussed to death already.....sorry if that's the case. |

So how do you know if someone has looked at your profile if they have the stealth mode on because there is no way of knowing that
I agree with the being able to block those who have their profile set to hidden but not in stealth mode |

I’ve had lots of messages from guys who have their profiles hidden which means they have been able to search and view my profile .
I’d be willing to block hidden profiles too because it’s only fair that if you are looking at profiles then it means people should be able to view you as well |

That's the point, there is no way to know if people who've gone in to stealth mode have looked at your profile.....I think you should have the option to block people who are in stealth mode from looking at your profile i.e. I want an option on the 'Privacy' settings that when selected means only visible profiles can look at mine....thus removing any capacity for stalkers to view my profile without me at least knowing they looked. |

You do know why people use stealth mode right |

It certainly cuts down in the messages from men asking to meet because I looked at their profile. ... if they don't see I've looked all is good. If someone is interested in you they'd contact you. There's possibly no one looking at your profile in stealth mode. There's never been an option to block people using stealth mode. |

There could be many different reasons and I'm sure lots of them are valid.....all I'm saying is that I would just like the option to block profiles who are in stealth mode i.e. I've no issues with people who want to be in shealth mode, I genuinely support their right to be in stealth mode, but I think I should also have to the right to decide if I don't want them looking at my profile without me knowing. It's all about balance. |

OP why does it matter to you whether or not someone views you in stealth mode?
If they like what they see they will contact you anyway, you don't need to see their name on a list to know they are interested in you.
I always view in stealth mode and here's why.
Everytime I look at a profile and they can see me on the list I get a message (mostly from men but some women and couples do it too)
These messages usually read something like this, "you looked at me, wanna meet tonight and fuck?"
Without the option to view in stealth mode (and message filters) I would have left this site within a few days of joining. |

OP if you blocked everyone who is in "stealth" mode from viewing your profile you will be blocking most of the female population on Fab as most of us use it for the reasons given previously. Is that what you really want? |

I think he wants to force us ladies out of stealth mode so that if we look at his profile he can send us unwanted mail |

If you want to block people that have hidden their profile then what about people who have a totally bare profile anyway, one devoid of most information, because there's no real difference in the two circumstances.
If you're worried about people stalking you examine the reasons why you're worried and think what you can do to avoid a particular person from finding your profile...Change your profile name, change all your personal details, hide your photos etc. |

people will just take it off to get round the block, have a look then put it back on again...the filter would be pointless unless you're checking who has looked 24 hours a day... |

I've been on scene for more than 10+ yrs and know all the games people play. I've always had a classy approach to things which has led to having some amazing experiences and making some good friends. I certainly don't send grubby fuck me now emails. I leave that to the other guys on here.
I just think it's unbalanced....no one on this thread below has come up with a reason other than it suits them to be in stealth mode. I'm not saying you can't be in stealth mode....I just don't want people to be able to view my profile without me knowing. If it was implemented I'm sure there'd still be plenty of other profiles, who hadn't selected the option, for people in stealth to view on here.
All I'm saying is there should be a balanced approach....if you can't see that then that's ok. |

Well firstly I would have read your profile and if I matched your requirements and you matched mine then I would send a polite introductory email if I was able to i.e. I was on the right side of your email filters.
If you would you class that as an unwanted email then I guess I'd be guilty as charged? |

You probably wouldn't but you can't speak for the rest of the guys on here.
99% of them would hence why majority of women choose not the appear on who viewed me lists |

Your example isn't wrong, I agree Fabs shouldn't allow that sort of thing in the first place.
Thanks for tips but after being on scene for this long I think I know most of the tricks to stay safe |

Yes, but at least then I knew they looked because they would show up, whereas at the moment I don't know and I can't take steps to block them if I didn't want them looking in future. |

There might be zero people looking, there might only be one person looking or there might be thousands (yes unlikely I know) but I'd rather there was definitely zero people looking.
Can someone please explain what's so wrong with giving people the option to control & know who looked at their profile? |

I think the who viewed me feature should be removed completely. Who cares and I've yet to figure how it actually enhances the site. Those who are interested can make contact... If not then they won't. The only real value is for admin purposes to look at traffic for stats and that could be done without displaying the feature.
I'd like to be convinced otherwise though. |

I understand what you're saying but the reality is that there are 1000s who haven't. I last counted my block list about 6 months ago when having a similar discussion with a lady friend...It was nearly 190. I've blocked a lot since. It's the best filtering system fab has. |

General curiosity
Why are people worried.ig certain people look at their profiles. . If its an issue make them pretty much basic hide naughty pics and verifications and thatll give them nowt to look at and save that option for friends only... x
A stalker. Also know as an admirer in some peoples eyes ?? Lol
will stalk you and generally not off their original profile block or not x...
My question is. Wjy is this such an issue just ignore them?? |

How the hell do you know people are using it to "stalk" you ? Personally I don't use stealth mode to "stalk" I use it to look to see if someone is my cup of tea. I can't imagine it on public with all the "you wonna fuck" messages to follow
My one problem with this is, if you blocked them and someone who uses stealth mode generally had interest in you from viewing your cam or mutual interest in a forum thread and they wouldn't be able to and you may lose out on a fair few meets. |
