As a bi couple we really have zero interest in straight guys and straight girls. But if we block guys, for example, we then end up blocking all the Bi guys we would like to meet.
Would be great to be able to block by a member sexuality setting as well as their gender. |

For the complete opposite reason for OP this would work for me, I’d not get the “discreet no strings bj nothing in return messages” from the gay/bi guys without filtering out the messages (I want to receive) from straight guys inviting to join a party of to be join a mfm. so this works for me  |

So then you just wouldn’t use the filter if it doesn’t work for you, and the ones it would work for would use it. If you don’t tints a filter on then it has no affect on who would message you surely. |

I think you’ve missed the point. If I filter gay/bi men then it will drastically reduce the amount of one liners I get.
I acknowledge the point made that some people will list as straight and still message. This will equally be a problem for the reason OP wants the filter as straight guys will identify as bi or bi curious to bypass the filter. However in the main bulk of people chancing will be filtered out
There isn’t a method to make this fully effective for all who want this feature, for whatever reason suits them but it would be a step in the right direction.

Thanks all for the support of this suggestion. To be honest we really weren't sure what sort of response we would get.
Hopefully this might be an extra filter that admin might choose to give us in the future. |

Straight guys would then not disclose their straight like the majority of bi-guys hide their bi because it reduces a lot of chances to meet. I can't see it actually working any better for you OP. |

I’ve not set the filter but I do get a lot of messages. I’ve made good straight male mates on here so hopefully admin can make this change for you to benefit from |

we'd love this too but the problem with this is like all filters, people will just change their profile to get round it. The only way would be to make sexuality unchangeable on a profile once you've chosen it and sexuality can be such a fluid thing for people exploring a lifestyle like this...
We'd love to filter out smokers but that won't work either, for the same reason |

What stops someone from changing their sexuality to bypass the filter then changing it back after they've sent the message? Presumably it would have to be like the age thing, ie you can only change it once. |

It doesn’t but for the OP’s perspective, how many straight guys are going to want to risk changing to bi or bi curious and be seen displaying that?
Take your point though, must be a way of making your sexuality more difficult e.g. can only change after 7 days once updated. I would assume that would deter most |

It takes seconds to change it, send the message then change it back. People do it with photos. Can't message a person whose blocked people with no public pics? No problem, briefly make one public, send the message then put it private after.

To be honest I really can't see many straight guys changing their profile to say bisexual to try and bypass a filter.
Especially as the profile they are messaging will likely have a real bisexual male at the other end and they would be opening themselves up to all sorts of pitfalls...  |

Nope, the point was received originally, however what was perhaps not clearly put by me was that perhaps the sexuality filter could work for everyone if the options were:-
Sexuality filter...
Block messages from straight guys yes/no
Block messages from bi guys yes/no
Block messages from bi females yes/no
Block messages from straight females yes/no
Etc.
You select the option you want... Default setting to allow messages from all, then you block what you want. Nobody misses the messages they want, but can block those they do not.
What would also be helpful is a clear definition on couples profiles - as in a set male half and female half. So that you could then search for couples with bi female and straight male, bi male and straight female, both straight or both bi... |

What about only being viewed by bi/straightmalefemale/ts/tv as well? That could cut chancers down further as, for example, straight guys couldn't view a bi couple blocking their view and so he'd never try to message and find he couldn't |
