Hi,
People post for Yorkshire in East Midlands and North East. It would be easier if there was a region for Yorkshire and save confusion. This has probably been suggested before.

Didn't you get your letter through the post? We're having a vote on it.A proper,legal vote on Yorkshire devolution. When The Peoples Republic declares independence then surely Fab will have no choice but to fall into line.
(I'm not joking,We really are having a vote).
But where will the Capital be? Sheffield,Leeds,Hull? No doubt York will assume the title is theirs but I see trouble ahead,could lead to a civil war. |

the areas are a bit confuseing as we in co durham no where near Manchester / Liverpool and loads of others and I think if they made county areas it would thin the chat rooms down too much  |

But it's pointless to designate it a region on here, because it is so large.
Someone in Northallerton or Thirsk are in Yorkshire, but because of distance, they are much more likely to want to meet someone in Teesside or Cleveland, than someone in Doncaster or Huddersfield which are both in Yorkshire.
In the same way that someone in Rotherham will find the distance less and the journey time much faster, than if they meet someone in Nottinghamshire, than someone in Scarborough which is also in Yorkshire.
Similarly, someone in Skipton will find it easier to meet someone in Colne, or Clitheroe in Lancashire than someone in Bridlington.
And as for a devolution vote for Yorkshire, in the last 2 general elections a Yorkshire party has put up candidates seeking a Yorkshire Parliament. They lost their deposit in every seat that they contested.

But the Yorkshire Peoples Front/ Peoples Front of Yorkshire will continue the struggle. Meanwhile,I suppose you have a point but exactly the same could be said for East Midlands which,at the moment, seems to be centred around the airport and stretches as far afield as Newmarket,Stoke and Timbuktu.
I was all in favout of voting for The Yorkshire Party but I found out I had misunderstood a bit.They meant a political party.  |

Yorkshire’s too big still tbh. If I’m looking for any events you’d get them way too far away. Would be better to change the location of meets completely like you can search profiles within x miles of y place. Much better. |
