Ok, just throwing this one in for people to debate, how about a facility to comment on peoples updates. Personally I could see it as a more active way of flirting than the winks, and it would stop messages getting lost in the inboxes of people that are inundated with other messages... Of course, theres the situation that people just blast every one with "wanna shag?" messages, but as the updates go in a few days, its not too bad
Whatcha recon? |

on one hand a bit toooo much like facebook...
but on the other we have often noticed status of friends or others that we have commented on by mail when a comment directly against the status would have, potentially, made more sense |

Just what I was thinking, but I guess its how the powers that be handle it... |

I'm not convinced
Firstly, how often do people look at their own profiles? (Personally, I spend most of my time looking at other people's profiles, and only look at my own once a month or so). So, why would I want to change my ways, and view my own profile to seek out random flirters, when my inbox is already full of them?
Secondly, we would need a show/hide facility (controlled by the profile owner) - and mine would be permanently set to 'hide'. It's hard enough getting some people to read profiles at all, without there being random comments from strangers taking up space at the top!
And thirdly, it would just lead to more complaints about being ignored .... I can see the Forum posts already: "I flirted with her via her status update every day for a week, and she still hasn't got in touch with me" etc.
However, maybe it could be a facility that comes along with 'friend' status - that would make it more like the Facebook equivalent. |
