Will be possible to add videos not just pics? Maybe has some other implications about infrastructure of the website but will be great to have it what you thinks? |

The site owners and admin have stated previously they have no plans to allow videos.
I know very little about IT but from what I can gather it would take up a lot of room on the servers and the site owners would need to invest in much larger ones. This cost would need to be passed on to the site users and may mean that there would be a compulsory monthly fee for using it.
The site owners want to keep it free so are keeping things as they are. |

It is a bad idea. Thousands of poor quality video's of gents bashing the bishop from pretty much the same angle.
Pity the poor admins having to sit through each one?
Then there will be people who will post porn to try and increase their profile views.
It is a social site, not a porn site...

UK law changes by April 2018 will force sites with pornography to have users subject to age verification or face their sites being blocked by ISPs. If fab added video, it would likely mean all users here having age verification systems that fab would have to pay to implement.
Many users think the site would attract a different type of person if it offered videos and that such people would probably be less interesting as potential partners.
With the potential for the site to have to pay for age verification for all, the much higher costs of streaming and storing video compared to photos and many users stating that they are happy to use other sites specializing in video if they want to - as well as having Fab readily blocked by ISPs lawfully, it's reasonable to estimate that the economics of fab would change and that users would likely need to pay more. Overall, I would not pursue it, particularly as it could endanger fab continuing to be great and successful at what it currently does.

A simple compromise would be to allow links on profiles to video hosting site.
Obviously it would be very difficult to know whether the video is actually the person in the profile but people could hold up a user name sign similar to being photo verified.
Hosting videos directly on fab would cost the site administrators a lot more money in hosting fees for the storage and bandwidth costs. |

I don't think cost of hosting that would be the main problem, would only be a few hundred quid a month. I think what would kill it would be the time and resources needed to view and verify that each video was legal in the uk. |
