The phone and cam verification feature should be removed,neither of these mean anything,and when hidden only show as genuine.No other site has this,so is,nt needed.If it must stay,why not state which type of verification is being hidden...

They do mean something i.e.

cam verification = you have seen them on cam

phone verification = you have spoken to them on the phone

That's why we are always dubious to meet anyone with verifications hidden, like the o.p says talking on the phone tells you nothing about the person. I for one would agree and don't think this should show as a verification.

A while back someone actually said it would be good if a phone verification tick was one colour, cam another colour, and a full meet one stay green maybe. Would clear things up a bit.

If you use the advanced search you can search for verifcations by meets.

The cam verification's, show that the user is the person in the photos.

I've heard a few folk talk of awkward moments when meeting up with someone, they've found out the photos being used are 10 years old, or not even of the actual person.

It can also show that if it's a couples profile that BOTH people are consenting. Not a profile made up, unknown to the other.

It's better than nothing, particularly for those struggling to arrange meetings with others in person.

(& no I'm not just saying that because that's all the verification we have)

We think with the phone/cam verifications that we wouldn't meet anyone for a example if the person(s) have been on the site for a while and all you see is the above then No.

Again as someone has said it's better than nothing but we prefer to see verifications were others have met with each other

and not phone/cam/social meets

I think there was a suggestion, a while ago, that there be separate icons, or that the icon would have a different colour, for each Verification type, so that, even if Verifications were hidden, you'd still be able to tell what "Verification Level" a user had "achieved".

I was once a member of a site, where females could phone a number and their voice was recorded for verification by admin. They reckon lots of men phoned up ,putting on female voices

phone and cam verifications are useless and dont mean anything, unless you want to have your timewasted by these folk dont contact them!!

I only meet people who have real meet verifications, dubious about the one liner meet verifications or people who only have one verification meet these days as well.

And as for people with only verifications 2 years old alarm bells ring, as they could be split up and a timewaster there now!!

I still don't get how ppl can put so much weight about meeting others on the words of other ppl they have never even met. I don't read verifications don't give them often and dont ask for them , the ones I do have I don't show. I like to think that adults between themselves can work out if they want to meet however I do understand that we are all allowed to use the site the way it works best for us.

That's not fair. We are NOT time wasters. We have met others in the past from a previous site, but so far on this site we haven't met anyone face to face, the times we have arranged to meet up with someone we've been let down.

We've not tried the club/social scene, as it's not something we are really that interested in.

Please don't tar us all with the same brush.

EVERYONE starts we no verification's so if people followed your advice no-one would ever meet up.

I don't have an issue with phone and cam verifications as such but its very rare I will leave them preferring to wait til we have met. Though there have been a few occasions i have used the phone verification.

However, I do think that when people leave feedback for a couple they should confirm that they met them both as i know of one particular guy from a couple who doesn't meet with the girl on his profile anymore. But then that's another issue!

It's ok for anyone to get verified and then hide the verifications, the facility to hide them is there for anyone to use as they see fit.

Why is it a "lie" because they are hidden?

So what you are saying is every newbie that gets verified and doesn't show them is a liar wow I'm impressed you have spoken to them all to be able to come to that conclusion.

This is just going around in circles now.

The site lets people have phone/ cam or meet verifications, everyone can use them how they wish.

If you don't want to meet people with phone or cam verifications, then use the advanced search and search for verifications with meets only.

Will shut this now.
