We don't send them, don't want to receive them and it'd be so nice if we could opt out of receiving them. They're a bit like email spam. It's not a huge problem, just a suggestion...

You can just ignore them, they're not in any way intrusive.

People have been asking for that for years

I think it would be great if people got a "This person doesn't accept winks"

No but they're just as annoying as any junk mail/spam but I'll agree that some people are bothered more than others.

Would save some people getting frustrated although you are always going to those that will moan about why

Having the option to block them would enable the people they do bother to do so but wouldn't stop anyone from sending or accepting them. Win win I'd have thought.

If you go into your accountemail notifications it gives the option to turn of receiving emails when winks are sent to you. It's half way there

The point is that if we could opt out with an automated message to that end the people who send them indiscriminately might just decide that it's not worth it. That's exactly how it works on another site we're on. Like I said, it's not a big issue and we don't respond to them so it's just a minor annoyance but that's what this forum is for.

Now that. Is a bloody good. Idea!

We'd find it useful if, when we winked people, it said they don't accept winks. Some people don't view them but don't say so on their profile.

A very useful filter!

Additional thought:

We have no doubt that people might wink people they like, but aren't sure if the winkee would be interested. Testing the waters.

If the winkee doesn't view winks they'll never know that someone is interested but unsure if it will be reciprocated. With a wink filter, they'll be less uncertainty about whether people fancy people back.

We know what we mean! Hope others understand what were ham-fistedly saying!
