On the mobile site, we're testing the new "grouped" mailbox where everything is grouped under one contact. Just like how imessage/whatsapp etc. work.
It's only currently available on the mobile site while in test.
Click this link for more info and to turn on new mailbox
Please let us know your feedback in this forum. While under test it's only available to site supporters.
The intention is to open it to everyone once we're happy.

Seems to work fine, although I don't have that many messages in my inbox.
Is the intention to retain the ability to switch backwards and forwards between styles? |

Pros: Works very well and stops cluster of messages making it easier to keep track of conversations!
Cons: the message you open doesn't show on thread so could be confusing to what was said when.

Need to be able to see if someone has read the message so possibly keep that the same. Along with the removal of pics attached to messages... so would that work with the sent ones? X |

Would be good to adopt a similar 3 ticks opened read concept as whats app.
A date and time stamp is sometimes useful.
Also will this group conversations by person or by a newly crated message with a new subject string /thread. Like on emails or will it combine all messages by person irrespective of new subject heading so grouping all conversation history under one message. Including sent item ?? |

Looks like it adds different messages from the same person into one thread which looks confusing as I'm not sure what thread I'm answering .....maybe it's just me but prefer it as it is now. |

Just a general question for Admin:
Is there a reason why, throughout the site (I think), the time SINCE an event is shown, rather than the time OF the event? I'm presuming that the dates are stored in an internal format, so have to be converted anyway?
"15 February 2017" would mean a lot more to me than "29 weeks ago". |

Loving it, a guy that had been previously abusive and I hadn't blocked has just messaged me, and there were all his abusive messages for me to see! He's now blocked, also great when some one says that we've chatted before and I can't recall them, now I'll be able to see if we have or not, thanks Fab xxxx |

I like it but if someone sends more than one message at a time it still shows as an unread message despite you opening the thread and seeing it there. I had to go back to the old mailbox to get rid of it |

Works great.
One issue though: I receive two messages consecutively from same user but after reading the messages, it didn't mark them both as read. Hence I have a permanent notification saying I have an unread message. |

Have just switched this feature on so will hold off reviewing until I've used it for a while.
I'm guessing that if a message has been deleted from the past it won't show up? |

As stated by others; the next obvious move is to implement the same UI to the Sent box, makes no sense not keeping all uniformed, plus you already have the backend code to make the change quickly.. |

It only works if all parties are site supporters. Other wise you only see the messages you sent but if you are a site supporter and go back to the old style you see all the messages. If you are not a site suppoter it dont work anyway.. |

This should now be fixed, going forwards
For older stuff you'll have to go back into the message thread for it to take effect

Big fan of this new feature. The message interface has always been a source of frustration for me.
It would also be excellent if you could create a 'friends' mailbox and 'other' mailbox but that's probably for the next development run |

Bravo! Long overdue but a fantastic start. It seems to not group sent messages but only the inbox. I've also noticed that there are messages missing in the conversation. There might be more issues once I start using it but so far it looks soooo much better than before! |

There needs to be a concept of thread removal. We've not quite figured out the exact mechanic.

With one man, we have 500+ messages but only the last two days worth of messages are showing in the message feed.

At first I was unsure ...but now after replying to a few people I think it's great
Gives you the amount of messages you've had with the person ...and colours there messages a lovely blue colour

But I know it's only beta ..
Every time I close the browser or log off when I log back in it is defaulting back to the old format

This is an amazing feature for me, I only use fab on my phone these days and I get so many messages that in the end I give up deleting. This just makes everything easy to see and I can out the people who love to send the same message over and over.

Excellent step forwards. Does need to show most recent message as part of tread tho as that's really confusing already.
Next step - friends folder and a no friends folder?
Also when on a users profile and it tells you you messaged them 3 months ago... make this a hyperlink to the message thread? I hate how I can't remember what the old convo was!!!

Love the group msg thing I can scroll through all my msgs now and see and read everything not just a small few and then my msgs get deleted randomly without me being able to read them as I get hundreds a day so this is really good i love it |

Works brilliantly so far. One improvement would be to be able to delete the whole conversation in one go rather than have to keep scrolling down to the last message and deleting. Think the option to be able to switch back and forth from old to new style should remain as a permanent option. Great improvement, can you do the same for sent messages please? |

Seems to be only showing 3 messages in the list, when there are more than 3 “groups” in inbox - deleted a grouping (renewal thanks) refreshed the page and low and behold another “group” of messages appeared in the place of the deleted ones
Overall big step forward, sounds to me like a foreach problem or similar. Definitely a feature I’d like to see stay |

Can't see pictures that were sent in previous messages anymore.
And would it be possible at some point, when you're in a thread with dozens of messages, to delete certain ones that are not really worth hanging on to? |

I opted in but my inbox reverts to old style each time I log out and back in... is that supposed to happen or just during testing phase?

Just wish it would delete all the messages at one but no!! Have to delete messages one at a time. Perhaps something the team didn't think about! |

Not sure if I'm the only one with this issue but I keep having to turn it on. Messages stay grouped for a bit then go back to normal. Kind of annoying.
I've always noticed that you can't set android alerts while browsing in incognito mode. Since it's a pretty safe bet that I'm not the only one using fab with incognito browsing enabled so I hope the new message functionality doesn't have the same shortcomings |

Am not technical in any way, so cannot really comment on the negatives.
It's a great idea though and much easier to read the old messages all together.

Looks good - mine keeps turning itself off though, also I would add to the general consensus that it would be useful to implement it in the sent box too. Also, when you open a message in a thread which isn't the top message, it only shows the message you've opened at the top but not in the thread where it fits which is somewhat confusing - hope that makes sense!

This is sexism. this is only good for women, men get only 2 mail a month this feature doesn't help us, may be admin please send some random mails every day to mens, to test this feature..lol  |

I am using on my mobile. It is a great feature however I have to keep turning the mailbox group messages on. It would seem it is not retaining the new setting each time I log on. which is a little frustrating |

I'm finding it difficult to delete messages that have been grouped together. Despite tapping the delete icon when I refresh the messages are still showing. Poss doing something wrong? Any ideas? |

Have noticed this when deleting too. It deletes the last message rather than a whole thread. The option of doing both might be useful if possible. |
