Hi
Thought of an idea thought would share it to see if it's a goer.
When reading a message, you get the option to reply / delete.
How about buttons for "thanks but no thanks" and "block/report".
Thanks but no thanks would then send a message out.
Block/report would take you to the block/report part of the profile. |

This is why:
BiGBawsMcGraw: Hi How are doing, interested in a meet?
XLcouple: Thanks for mailing, but its a no thanks from me (auto message)
BiGBawsMcGraw: Why? Whats up with me? I seem to match your profile requests?
XLcouple: Your not my type, sorry
BiGBawsMcGraw: Why? F******* Timewaster
Obviously thats a fake and made up email exchange, but is often what happens when people say No.
Sometimes just easier not to reply at all.

"can see what youre saying and no doubt that does happen from time to time but for us thats been quite rare.
our idea could work because you'd also have a block button after the message too!"
That is kind of already available though.
Read message reply to message, go back and read message, there is a grey button to delete the message, next to that are 3 tick boxes,
1, Also Block user,
2, This user is abusive,
3, This message was spam
jist tick whichever boxes are applicable, the last 2 also report the message to admin |

thats a good idea and not overly difficult to put in place... problem is that the excuse most give for not bothering to reply (even to a bone fide message) is that they are too busy. That being the case don't you think it would add to their troubles by having to click their mouse button twice, once to say no and once to delete? the extra click would be so time consuming...lol... |

I think if they delete the message it has the same effect to be honest.
If people reply to me with no thanks, I always wish them good luck and a thank you for letting me know.

Would be perfect if some people (mainly guys I am afraid) took that auto reply as the final word.....but so many don't.
"Why whats wrong with me?"
"Whats wrong with older guys?"
"I know I live 250 miles away but I can travel"
"suppose you think you're a bit special"
Get my point?

People are comparing it to real life.....
If you get knocked back in real life would you keep begging and begging?
In that sense it is not like real life encounters.

It wouldn't stop the whining I'm afraid. One site I'm on sends auto responses to anyone who contacts you outside your set criteria. You have the ability to contact them if you wish, but it sifts for you.
The site doesn't have a forum, but diaries. Guess what the majority of diary wines are about?!! That's right, auto responses and women being so far up their own arses to set preferences on an adult site as preferences should only be set on dating sites! |
