Please, please, please could you take a look at the postcodes used by profiles. We've raised this before, but take a look at the SouthEast region AL postcode. Because it is the first on the list when registering, if the member doesn't change their postcode area from the default, they end up in the AL area.
We were looking for people in the St Albans area, and the search is turning up Sudbury, Kent, Hornchurch, London, etc.
I know that making sure profile information is correct is down to the individual members, and that it is as much to their benefit as to ours, but it is impossible for us to look for people in the real AL postcode without wading through loads of dross.
Maybe force all members on next login to update their selection? Or maybe put a dummy postcode at the top of the list for new signups so that if they don't make a selection, they just don't get listed in any postcode area?
