I'm concerned that in the event of a site hack my photo verification could be used against me. How do i get the image of me deleted now that it has served it's purpose?

you can contact admin and ask them to remove it but you will also lose that green tick you have for being photo verified.

That's not really an issue after you've actually been verified though is it?

other people will think you aren't photo verified, probably won't be a problem though no.

Why not be able to delete it within photo manager? That's my site suggestion.

Ask Admin from the CONTACT button and they will delete it for you. Your flag will be deleted also though

coz most people are dumb and will delete it, then want their flag back and upload another one for the moderators to have to check.

i reckon so.

Your verification photo is your face....and a piece of paper with the site and your profile name on it.

I'm really sorry but I don't see a problem with that....

In The North

Surely if the database structure has been designed correctly, if you upload a photo for verification, you create a record relating to that user in the database, mark the user as verified and/or delete just the image file.

Doesn't make sense to delete the digital file and remove the photo verified flag

It's not a problem until the site is hacked.

Agreed. This is now my suggestion.

OP As you are in the East Wing of Salisbury Cathedral could you not ask the Arch Deacon for advice. Or failing that, hide your photo verification under the floor length robes of a passing choir boy.

I was also thinking ... if all new members need to get photo verified to use the site ... and a photo verification gets you around the verified only measage filter ... kknd of makes that filter redundant I always thought it ahould be a real verification for that filter anyway

This isn't true. PV is not compulsory for all new members

The best thing to do is take no notice unless Admin say this is the case

Same for me as well. I could sign up to the site and then not use anything until i had uploaded a pic, well had to wait ages for it to be modified as well but every time i tried to do anything i kept getting sent back to the 'you have to be photo verified' page.

Been here about eight years and I didn't bother getting photo verified. People have two options when contacting me..like it or lump it. Doesn't seem to cut down on messages. I don't bother verifying meets either and most of my fbs and subs aren't still on here anyway.

I'm not sure this is correct but my understanding is that PV is to prove your gender, nothing else.

As such there are 2 options for a PV pic;

1) Fully dressed face showing.

2) Fully naked face hidden.

In theory you could be fully naked and hold your piece of paper up in front of your face.

So what groups are required? Surely that creates an unfair balance between users

That I can't answer as I don't know the ins and outs and I doubt Admin will answer either. They are trying to keep the site safe, they use a number of ways to do that

Fair enough ... sounds like its driven from previously used email or IP address then ... makes sense to stop people that have been banned coming back
