Charge members

I reckon members should be charged a small fee like 5 pounds a month, as there are to many people that don't turn up for meets.

If there was a fee or a joining fee there would be more genuine members on here x

If you are deliberately of a mind to be a timewaster - 17p per day is not really going to put you off is it?

It would be interesting to know what % of users pay voluntarily anyway

I should imagine a good number do

I've had my time wasted by both unpaid members and site supporters alike, so to be fair OP, I really don't agree with your argument, and though forcing members to pay might have the effect of reducing the number of time wasters on here (though not completely eliminating them), I suspect that it will also reduce significantly the number of those of us who are genuinely looking for meets, and fab will be a poorer place for it.

I doubt it would make any difference. A fiver is nothing today, probably doesn't even get you a pint of beer now.

Well, in terms of contributors to this thread, so far 100%

People already pay a fee... if they want!

You can be verified as been a 100% member on fab but you will always get somebody who doesnt turn up for a meet.

Are these people who pay, verified genuine and turn up for most meets but at one time cant make a meet now fake?

It honestly would make no difference. I've had both well verified site supporters and non site supporters no show for meets.

Waste of time .that amount wouldn't deter the time wasters one jot

I've arranged meets with people who have pics ,have multiple verifications ,are gold star site supporters and still some of these don't show.you just have to judge these things for yourself.it will always happen no matter what

I doubt it.

The amount of posts I have read over the years from people who are on other sites which charge about £50 a month and STILL get no shows and let downs.

I very much doubt a fiver will deter people......and I am not gonna pay £50 a month just for some website.

Personally I would not pay but then in the amount of time I've been on here I've had no meetings and can't see why I'd have to pay for the privilege of having them lol should stay as voluntary

I've been a subscribing member to several payment sites over the years, many of them charging £30+ a month.

I've encountered far less timewasters and fake profiles on Fab than any other site.

Over the years I must have shelled out thousands of pounds in subscription charges and had a thousand times less fun than I've had on Fab.

Fab for the win.

I don't think it would deter timewasters. I think there's an attitude from some forum posters that if people aren't meeting constantly they are time wasters. People have lives that can get in the way of play. Also they may be on other sites too, I,m on 2 others and get meets from them also. Some members just want to chat or use the forum, that doesn't mean they shouldn't be on Fab because they aren't meeting.XXX

no if you did that, over half the site would leave this place to another site. probably then push up prices of existing members.

i wouldnt stay, plenty of other free sites like this. and probably someone would just create another version that is free.
