I know after a certain time, the posts you put on a thread become permanent and that's fine. But is there any way to edit that post within the same time frame or could this be added.
I ask because I post mainly from my phone and auto correct, whilst lazy, can cause problems and it would be cool to just edit them, rather than deleting and reposting?
Hope that makes sense |

"Actually I see a problem with that idea. As threads are frequently "real-time" so it'll be a bit messed up"
Not that messed up.
Reddit for example with it's millions of users allows you to edit your posts so i'm sure someone could think of a way for it to be done here. |

Exactly this.
How many times have you seen the OP removed by poster as they realised it wasn't a good idea or once they read it back that it wasn't quite how it should be worded, but it has been quoted further down. |

I used to mod a forum and one of the problems we'd get would be someone adding a post then editing it substantially so the replies to the original post made no sense at all.
I agree it would be better than having to delete, but I just backpage until I get to the message box, edit it there, re-post and delete the incorrect one. |

I've seen forums where you can do an "edited to add:" so you can't change what you originally wrote, but you can ADD an edit underneath for clarity, or to acknowledge a spelling mistake etc. |
