"Only had one wink back so far!"
Because so many people don't even look at them,
Wish there was an automated response option "This person doesn't accept winks" so senders knew they didn't. |

You Dont Need to Know, right now |
"Do fabbers prefer to get a message as a first contact? Or is a wink sufficient to begin with?"
I am one of the many who don't even look at my winks, and would make this an opt-out feature, if I could.
As for whether winks work, I know it's double-standards, but I think it depends who is winking. For example, a bisexual single female probably gets a very good response if she winks at a couple, but a single male will find the vast majority of his winks are ignored - even by the people who are looking for single males. It's just supply and demand.... and the supply of single males is so great that you have to make much more of an effort. |

I don't mind winks as long as there is something substantive on someone's profile for me to look at and wink back on. However, guess it's different for single guys. Don't think we'd get inundated with winks as women and couples may do.
My profile I'd say is quite extensive and I have a variety of pics I'd like to think. My wink would be an expression of interest and if they like what they see, hopefully a wink back and I'd message.

I sometimes wink if a person has attracted my attention yet I simply don't have time to write any sort of message.
It is just a way to say "I looked at your profile and liked what I saw". I then add them to my hotlist and contact them next time I see we are both online.
I would be surprised if a wink ever resulted in a response - but just maybe, they will look at my profile and then teeny tiny maybe they will like what they see... |

I see a wink as someone is interested, if you like their profile you can wink back or send a message.
The trouble with sending a message first off, you can spend time writing it ony to have it ignored.
If you were in a room and somebody kept looking it would indicate they may be interested and if you were too you would look back to show they interest you. So I see a wink as nothing different to that. |
