Answer from the FAQ page -

I get an error / get told to resize my photo when I try to upload a photo.

Modern digital cameras take very large pictures and they will cause errors if you try to upload them to the site. If you resize the photo to 1024*768 or smaller in a graphics programme and save as a JPG or make sure they are under 1mb in size then they'll upload fine. Most graphics software will easily resize images, or we recommend the free VSO image resizer which lets you right click and resize if you're using Windows. Alternatively, lots of digital cameras let you choose a lower resolution when shooting pictures which would also work.

open the pic in paint. click edit picture . you will see "compress" click. You will see 2 options. e mail and web site. click web. it will compress the pic automatically. save as whatevr u want then try uploading.

What OS and version of Paint? My version, on XP, doesn't offer that option (that I can see)!

just save the pics in a normal file. the just double click to open in a normal way and it should open in it automatically. its definitly part of XP , thats my system too

Think the paint option to compress is only an option if you also have office installed with all it's add ons.

For XP just right click on the picture and select Send To “mail recipient” a window will open with the option to make picture smaller, select that option, and click more options if you want to selct a size ie 800x600 and click ok, when mail window opens you can just open the picture attachment and save the resized photo or alternatively just mail it to yourself

Ah! OK. The Microsoft PowerToy Image Resizer sounds like the easiest option for XP!
