A while back we reported a timewaster using the system for doing so. The profile was removed by either admins or the person themselves...they were informed on us reporting them.
They have since returned, got a verification from the same person saying the same thingl. So quite possibly someone has found a way around that system.
Anyway to the question at hand...when someone is reported and removed, is their ip also blocked? Or can they just keep coming back?
Is a list kept of people reported for timewasting? In short i am curious about how the system works on the back end of the site |

As far as I can see, reporting timewasters is a waste of time.best just block n move on.if they set up a new account n contact you, again block n move on.it's easier to block than to set up a new account.they will soon get fed up. |

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.
******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).
Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.
Admin
PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.
Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:
--
Your feedback has been saved.
A website admin will shortly review your feedback and take the necessary action. After reviewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning.
By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.****** |

"Is timewasting against the rules of the site?
It is on the list of things to tick if you report someone "
No it isn't... you can report someone for not turning up to an arranged meeting, but you can't report someone for 'timewasting'.
Since alot of guys seem to think 'timewasting' is sending a few memos back and forth and saying you're not interested, I'm glad there isn't the option to specifically report that! |

I can't imagine how reporting someone for not turning up even works. As surely it would come down to your word against theirs. Unless admin get flooded with reports about the same person... |

I think that's the general idea, if we all report naughty people then if there's a pattern with one or two of them it will show up. |

When we first started on this site we trusted to many and quickly learned not to.
So now we reverse image any photos, if we find any on porn sites report to admin most are removed.
As to meeting people we always meet in a local bar if the other people dont show then at least we are out of the house.
How you define time wasters is an interesting point whose time are they wasting not mine unless i reply..and think this type of site is always going to attract people who need care in the community to make there life more bearable.
But think ..if they are sitting indoors at a keyboard at least i can use the toilets in the park without being bothered..lol..enjoy fab use the tools given PLUS your common sense ..connie x |

Just to clear up a few things with regard to IP addresses.
If you have Fibre broadband, most but not all ISP's will issue you with a static IP address. Unless you are a business, in which case you will absolutely be issued a static IP.
ADSL broadband is completely different. Nearly all ADSL providers issue an IP on a re-lease basis which means if your router is re-booted you are very likely to be issued a different IP address. Unless you are with an ISP like Zen Internet, in which case you will always have a static IP even on ADSL.
Now that i have made that as clear as mud you can all understand why it's useless for Fab to even think about blocking IP's as a means of getting rid of life's dross |

Regardless of administration - we post a private note to those that warrant it. Only the poster can read it, remember why you'require on here and every so often it pays off and leads to FAB meets.
W!n*e/s can then be left and if necessary block them.
We'd like admin to do something about picking collectors but no idea what admin could do.
Have fun guys - there are genuine people on here |

An more people are using VPN apps now so their IP address changes all the time....so its a pointless exercise. |

you can have a static IP from your service provider if you want one...even as a consumer.....
there are number of other ways around that anyway including vpn services and sites like hidemyass.... |

Even on fibre an ISP won't allocated you a static IP unless you request/pay for one. As people have mentioned above they're usually reserved for business use. It wouldn't be monetarily viable for an ISP to do so.
However, you could use a Website called no-ip if you needed one to remotely access home security cameras etc.
Again, as above, you could download a free VPN on the Android store for what it's worth.
IP addresses are good for know where, where and who accessed this site/uploaded a pic / downloaded content.
Just to re-clear that up.

Hey
I've just sent feedback to the site about timewasters.
I suggested that when we report a member for wasting time it should be done like verifications are done but they cannot be hidden from everyone.
E.g. Joeblogg3333333333333
Has one verification but the timewaster verification style count shows 12.
Does anyone think that sounds like a good idea? |

Personally I think that would be great. I've arranged social meets and ended up sitting in a pub by myself looking like an idiot because the guy hasn't turned up |

Think we all have different ideas what a "time waster" is - you can already report people for failing to turn up for a meet
ive had someone ive met many times and known a long time fail to turn up for a hotel meet and another fail to turn up for a social who ive known 3 years.
I didnt report them just remind them frequently of their bad manners on those occassions |

"Although you didnt i could just say you did.. see how easy it is to get round.."
Unfortunately it is but people do that with verifications aswell.
But I've had this problem on sites like match when looking to date than swing.
And it's really annoying I turn up to where we agreed to meet and they don't turn up.

Maybe have a look at who your arranging meets with then if you have lots of noshows then your the common denominator, ive been meeting on this site for 9 years and ive never had a noshow |

I've arranged to meet a couple on here and they had 3 verifications and they still didn't turn up.
i have met women and couples on here last time I was on here.
As a single guy it's not easy because other single guys spoil the site. |

Verifications are only to prove the person is who they say they are ie. A single male or female etc verifications dont mean they will turn up to meet you.. |

That's up to admin to make the call and check the facts, but having an untruthful veri from someone who I didn't want to meet anyway, on my profile for the world to see, doesn't sound appealing and is a flawed system from the off. Would never work in a million years. |

Yes the problem is it spoils it for every one had a chap chatting to me about problems getting replies or even meeting.
IP blocking is no good cus of VPN services I know it's hard on the women hear 500 emails or more in one day so what chances have we got 500 to 1 no good.
So I'm now looking to join swingers club next year to get more involved with the social side of meeting like the old days before web sites.
Don't get me wrong it's a great way to find out who's going and maybe meet there to have fun it both ok will I it less hassle I'm thinking. |

You Dont Need to Know, right now |

Sorry, but no. People could use it wrongly a) out of spite when they've been turned down for a meet, or b) when someone has told them that they've changed their mind.
There is already the facility to report someone who arranged a meet and didn't turn up - this is all we need. We must trust site admins to take action if one profile is reported by multiple people. Like most people, I want a phone call before arranging a meet, so it's not possible to track interactions through the site.
There are threads at least weekly on how to 'improve' the site as regards timewasters... none of which will work. Just leave it to Admin. |

Yup there is a t girl in bi room who got ban for few days came back n got a life ban! But after a couple of weeks she came back so not even a life ban keeps them away! Like others have said if u come across time wasters it's just wise to report and block. You also find a lot of the time wasters also have more then 1 profile to as a backup so it's pointless
Even when u report nothing gets done by administration all they do is mail u to sgin sorry we r so busy and try our best . But no action is ever taken even when u have proof . Best advice is block and swing on. There should be a list for ppl so we can add names of time wasters name and shame them that what I say!!! It is a swinging site. Not a keyboard worrier site!! It's always best to read ppl veris and they speak for them selves fakes and time wasters r Easy to spot block them |

"All you need to do to change your ip is to turn your router off and on again so that wouldn't work. Best way is if you see the profile block it
Turning your router off changes your IP?Are you sure?"
Not always do don't rely on this. |

ive reported many accounts over years of abuse and slander
ive sent copies to admin. ones with fake pictures i know are genuinely not person or cartoons etc..
stalker accounts with false veri. posting others telephone numvers etc .
10 years in scene i know a lot of people
I add these in hotlist . over 80 percent still on site causing same drama .
if these peopke arent removed how could a time waster ( ie changed mind cant be arsed to tell you they were just a horney wanker or got cold feet lol)
going on that 50 per cent of any guestlist for club or events never show.. Thi site be empty in a,month .. just don't take it personnally!! z |

"How to deal with time wasters
Read...ignore...Block...move on.
If necessary in future, repeat the steps above.
"
That is what it comes down to, you use your own instincts. It's also worth mentioning that a "block" has now gone from simply stopping a user sending messages to now not being able to view your profile. Much better.
In truth how does one define a "time-waster" . . is it not almost the same as "how long is a piece of string"? More insidious to this label are the fakes some of which the person/s behind them go to extreme lengths to have their fun. Creating multiple users, verifying their own fake profiles, etc. Makes a mockery of the verification system UNLESS you see one that is a physical meet from a known profile. Remember that.
IP addresses. Most BB/FB ones are now fixed but what if then a fake uses a VPN? One could use that system to create as many fake profiles as you wished! Not sure on what tools Admin may use but many of the popular VPN services are listed so web-sites can use filters to block access from them . . if this site isn't already then Admin should make that a priority. |

This site is free to use, so will attract sad people with no other interest, saying that even the paid swinging site's are no better.
Use the tools given, your gut feeling and report anything you think is detrimental to the site, then block move on and enjoy fab .
quote from admins profile.
We run this as a hobby in our spare time and get literally 100s of mails a day so we're afraid we can't respond personally to any queries about the site. If we did, we'd spend all our time doing this and no time improving the site or keeping it running smoothly! |

My friends off here say parties are the best way to meet more genuine users off here.
Just got to take the plunge.
I just block and report timewasters now.
As such nothing online can be done good enough to stop them unfortunately.
As the saying goes the old ways are the best ways.
I.e actually going to places and events to meet others. |
