I usually use the IPhone site and its basic but easily usable . Whilst phone is charging I've logged onto the desktop site for the first time in along time .

It's so basic and out dated and un glossy .

I know you market yourself as a free site but there is thousands of site supporters and a modern website design is not expensive atall thesedays .

Plus the extra users and revenue a modern looking site would bring would easily cover the costs .

What needs to change? It's clean cut, simple and functional.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

It might be free to joine but to use all features, it costs money. Use the money from that to make the site better, if need be.

"

The problem with digital media is- it changes and evolves so fast- if you stay still you go backwards.

My point exactly.

I work in media design and a website design is very cheap nowadays .

And there has to be plenty of site supporter funds in the coffers .

They only need to pay to keep the servers running . As Admin keep reminding us they are volunteers.

How could it work better? And new features don't count.

Easily

Better menus

Just a better looking site in general.

And on another note the addition of a proper phone spp using swipe technology .

So you just want a revamp of the look?

is it worth it?

Its clean and uncluttered. Most designs I see are quite gimmicky in comparison.

Half the people who use this site as it is don't seem to know half the features as it is, make it more complicated they would have no chance.

It looks and works fine as far as I'm concerned....don't over complicate things with new gizmos.

I logged onto another site today for the first time in over a year.

They've revamped it so much it is totally unusable.

I'd rather have a usable but basic site such as Fab than 1 I have to spend 20 minutes figuring out where everything is.

If you prefer the mobile site then use the mobile site on your desktop, https://m.fabswingers.com

I used to think this, but the longer I've used Fabswingers, the more I appreciate the feel of it.

Sure, it's not flashy - but it's easy to use; easy to find what you're looking for & is generous with it's 'free' features, too.

Same goes for that of the mobile site.

Will it need an update eventually? Sure, probably. But why upgrade to a model like AFF which is buggy and overly in-your-face, if this works well now?

I always use the desktop site on my phone. I've been used to it for so many years my fingers have practically got muscle memory. I wasn't keen on the mobile version, or having to relearn where functions were different.

Two other sites I used changed their look & it lost not only their user friendly functionality, but users too (including myself). Too many changes can be off putting. Yes, eventually I'm sure Fab will evolve to reflect its newer, more tech savvy membership. However I'm sure they look at the stats of ages & demographics of its long standing members & changes as it sees fit. I doubt Fab is going to the dogs anytime sooner. So I'm in agreement with the users quote above.
