Unread messages

I had a bunch of unread messages and they seem to have been deleted suddenly, is there a time limit before they get deleted automatically or something?

Fab now can delete older messages, normally the unread ones and leave the read but not got round to deleted in my case, they don't seem to remove anything from my sent folder just my unread ones.

Most irritating.
