Would it not be nice to prevent people you have blocked to intrude in the forum when you are the OP?

I mean it is true that people can be reported individually but some of us do not like doing that! We expect the Moderator to look into it for us to be fear but it is not always the case and at time this can cause nuisance to the point that the OP is to be blamed him/herself!

There are times in which as an OP you get so involved with your deep discussion and some people have nothing better to do than to piss you off that's all... it would make the Forum much more productive I think

The question of the inability of "blocking" to not perform many of the wishes many want it to has now been addressed, Admin have stated that they will make "BLOCK means BLOCKED" at their next site upgrade.

Look for posts we have made recently in a thread about blocking for fuller details?

Yes noticed thank you but this was clearly posted two weeks ago so at the time I could not have seen the most recent threads!!!

I was suggesting in addition if we could have blocked also the people that can be a nuinsance on your tòpics when you are the OP and I am not sure if that was understood prior the next update...

". . . I am not sure if that was understood prior the next update..."

We think Admin will now take on board ALL concerns regarding personal chioce for privacy and the block function. However it couldn't eradicate others comments on a forum, only that you wouldn't be able to view/contact the poster or they view/contact you. Removing a post as an OP isn't something this site permits without sending a request to Admin . . and I don't think they'll do that. Why? In one word : censorship. Rather the need to avoid censorship.

Perhaps you are misunderstanding what I said:

In addition to the BLOCK and as indeed it is against the rules to use the forums to get around someone that has block you... it would be nice if those that have been blocked by the OP and/or vice versa would also not be allowed to take part in those topics started by that OP in other words if you are the OP of one Topic those people who you have blocked or they have blocked you... would not be able to take part in your threads!!!

This can at times misused and abused in a vindictive way that can be a nuisance!

That would need the mods to know which user has blocked which user, which isn't an option.

I was not suggesting this to be done manually! But in authomatic when programming the next Update for Blocking.

"The mods still wouldn't have the information of who has blocked who"

Yes but a simple reprogramming code would it not take care of this in authomatic?

I am guessing maybe....but wouldn't it just be easier to ignore the people you don't want to interact with?

I suppose so... However if the user received this message on the screen:

Sorry, you can't take part of this discussion with this OP

Why? User has blocked you or you have blocked the user...

I guess it would be better?

Just an idea to point out while you are improving the Block that ought to mean BLOCK that's all

Great suggestion. Like any other social network - if you block someone then they shouldn't be able to see any of your activity or information because they are, well,'blocked'. I don't know what's difficult to understand about that

They'd probably be allowed to see the threads though, just not the specific posts by the user who has blocked them?

Also shouldn't be able to see your nearby distance or online status in searches, otherwise what's the point in it. I assume they already know your profile if you're blocking them. Some people might block for safety reasons.

Apologies if this stuff is already incorporated, I've never personally used the block function.

It is Admin who do all the improvements for the site, we just mod, but you are in the right place for them to see your suggestion

All well and good, but what if they want to comment on what someone else in the thread says?

I think its fine as it is, if someone you have blocked has a pop at you via the forums, then report them, simples.

Great suggestion. Block means blocked they should not pop up anywhere. Easy to do.

I was wandering if I had used the right section but this suggestion has been posted in "Fabswingers.com site feedback" which is meant to be a feedback for the improvements of Fabswingers.com?

Your answers:

"That would need the mods to know which user has blocked which user, which isn't an option."

and

"The mods still wouldn't have the information of who has blocked who."

seemed to tell me you had misunderstood what I was trying to say as in fact this would also facilitate the mods responsibilities!

Yes in an ideal world we would not need to BLOCK anyone at all! But life is not like that is it?

I didn't think I had, but I now can't understand this point but not to worry ,as I say, it doesn't matter what I say in answer to peoples suggestions as I can't implement what you want but you are in the right place for the people who can to see it.

If everyone I had blocked wasn't allowed to have an opinion on a thread I started, I would be talking to myself! When I block, its because I dont want to meet the person or doesn't want to get a private message from them. I am always happy to get into a discussion with them in a public forum. That is what some good banter is about. I would never in any circumstances only want people who agree to be on the same thread as I am, whether I start it or not ... how boring would that be. I think the problem is that some people don't know how to have a discussion without being darn right offensive. If the option to block people from posting on a thread the OP owns ever comes up, I just want people to remember that the OP doesn't own the thread .... and if they want ego stroking facetious comments, do that by PM
