We had posted on a thread about 20 mins ago regarding unwanted txt messages but that tread has just been closed
Now we have read thru the last post explaining why it cannot have anything to do with fab but can Admin please explain how we can be getting the exact same messages as many others here (there has been a lot of others in the chat rooms mentioning the same txts) when the phone we used to become a site supporter is recieving these txt messages when the only time the phone has EVER been used is to become a site supporter
We purchased this phone as our swinging phone
and upto now nobody at all has ever been givern the number
There has to be link to the txt messages us and others are getting to becoming a site supporter |

Can you contact us privately with your number, the text you received and the number it came from.
The last time there was the chatter about this (start of 2011), the text was some spam that was sent out nationwide and had nothing to do with Fab. We don't give out your text number (we don't actually get your text number) and our text people don't give out your number. This is legally enforcable, we could both get fines tens of thousands of pounds under the data protection act if we broke these obligations.
You should report any text spam to phonepay plus, the premium text regulator:
http://www.phonepayplus.org.uk/output/Make-a-complaint.aspx
They can ensure that people spamming phones get fined and stopped from doing it.

We should say as well a number doesn't have to have been used to be spammed, the spammers simply choose blocks of numbers to cycle through; PLEASE anyone who receives spam text report to phonepay plus via the link above (and never respond to it, because that just proves it's an active number).

Quick update on this. The people behind the "BABE" text have a history of mass number spamming going back to 2007. We can confirm that neither ourselves or our text upgrade partner ever passed numbers on and have updated the site FAQ with details of the premium text regulator to report spam texts. PLEASE report spam texts you get to phonepay plus using the links above or those we've added to the FAQ. It seems like they target random numbers, there are complaints going back to 2006:

Thanks for the thread and admin answers, I have just started receiving these texts in the last 2 days, I don't think at all that it has anything to do with the site and will be using links given by admin. Thank you ) |
