I think one way of sharpening the member search function would be to enable Fabbers to search for exact words or phrases contained in people's profiles.

Such a function would allow members to, for example, search for anyone who uses the name "Abfabs" in their profile. Or anyone who is looking for a "friend with benefits".

What does everyone else think?

I think it's an excellent idea. It solves the problem of various interests not being available to pick.

This would be a huge advantage, if it was possible. The list of interests is extremely restricted.

Is this something that could be done, in the same way that we can search for forums for particular words or phrases?

Great idea and easy to implement.

It would be a brilliant feature, but only if the existing IT structure could permit it. Cost could be an inhibitor. Perhaps Admin could let us know. Mike

Agree this is needed. The current 'interests' list is bordering on pointless.
