We're doing some changes to the site behind the scenes to improve site performance, first thing tomorrow morning (starting at 06:00 all being well).

The site may be offline for an hour or so between 06:00 and 07:00 but hopefully it will be quicker than that.

We'll update this thread as we progress.

Ok we should be done. That took almost the full hour. We may have a couple of glitches (server unavailable messages or similar for 1-5 minutes) later on this-morning but we hope to have completed the main batch of work.

(Have removed all messages not related to this topic from the thread; please start new threads with suggestions)

Forgot to say: We've added 2 hours to all site supporter passes, to apologise and make good for the time offline 06:00 to 07:00 this-morning and the related glitches/slowness that some experienced for 20-30 minutes yesterday evening.

We were alerted to a small glitch with the sent mail box where old messages were showing above newer ones. We've fixed this now but the site was slow for 5-10 minutes just a few moments ago while we applied it.

Thanks to the eagle-eyed member who alerted us to this

When I look on profiles of people I've had contact with, where it says "so and so mailed you 1 day ago" etc, it's duplicated and the same for the last time I mailed them - is that related at all?

"what changes have you guys introduced to the site today?"

We've made some behind the scenes changes to the private messaging database to improve site performance and allow us to keep growing.

There should be no difference for users.

This was indeed a bug which we've fixed and are in the process of cleaning out some "dirty data". Should all be sorted in 10-20 mins time. Well spotted and thanks for letting us know

Admin,

It seems that Status Messages are taking a long time to expire. Is this a "feature" of the upgrade?
